Best of Comeback Morrissey

Hello all, I'm new here.

I've been listening to Morrissey for a few years, only his old stuff really. I keep thinking I've gotten through all the stuff he's recorded until I run into a gem B-side like "Oh well I'll never learn" or "Now I am a was".

Anyway, like I said, I haven't really been following current Morrissey. I've dabbled in some of the singles and have been a little disappointed. I was wondering what songs you all would recommend to get into late-era Morrissey. Thanks!

My personal favorite.

And if we aren't talking b-sides, this:

Ryan beat me to it on Christian Dior - a fantastic song.
Here's another great b-side given criminally little attention (though it did get a second life on Swords).

Edit: Whoops, Viva Hate! beat me to My Dearest Love.

Well, this whole thread is a great sampler of how great Morrissey can still be despite the never ending complaints....

I think his best two albums are, undoubtedly, You Are the Quarry and Years of Refusal. Some of my favourite songs, not necessarily from those albums, are:

Something Is Squeezing My Skull
Irish Blood, English Heart
The World Is Full of Crashing Bores
Shame Is the Name
All You Need Is Me
Human Being
Let Me Kiss You
I'm Okay By Myself
Mama Lay Softly on the Riverbed
The Slum Mums
When Last I Spoke to Carol
That's How People Grow Up
First of the Gang to Die
Black-Eyed Susan
Nobody Loves Us
Jack the Ripper
Have-A-Go Merchant

To name only a miniscule amount.

and yet you wrote an email to someone you thought to be Morrissey claiming he was a sad shadow of his former self and had been easily surpassed by DD.

Suddenly Years of Refusal is a 'masterpiece' again?

I think you need to get you medications stabilized.

The 10 best 21st century Moz songs are:
1. When last I spoke to Carol
2. Christian Dior
3. The never laid (that's the never played) symphonies
4. First of the gang to die
5. I'll never be anybody's hero
6. It's not your birthday anymore
7. Shame is the name
8. It's hard to walk tall (when you're small)
9. I'm throwing my arms around Paris
10. Friday mourning
