What did you dream (last night)?

It really is, even though I don't think anyone should be left alone with a whole pan of it. The butter content is staggering. It's not something I make often, but in this case I'd bought the phyllo for spanakopita and had some left over.

What did you dream (last night)?

No, I felt happy, because I had baklava.

What did you dream (last night)?

I couldn't see into the bakery. But I did make baklava at home last week, although I didn't have any rose water and the phyllo dough was store bought because only complete psychos make it themselves.

What did you dream (last night)?

Maybe the person who made them was. Who knows?

What did you dream (last night)?

UPDATE: I still don't have any, but I did buy two apple fritters which I guess will have to do.

    Favorite alternative holiday songs

It should be obvious to any that this isn't real, though the Murphy impression is uncanny.

Moments of brilliance from the “past their prime”

It was kind of a joke, but yes, I think Savage, Splinter, and Dead Son Rising are all great albums. He's just in a thematic rut, and I just want to tell him, yes, I get it, you're disillusioned with God, and pissed off that Firefly was canceled. Get a new topic beyond combining religion and sci-fi.

Moments of brilliance from the “past their prime”

You could choose any of Gary Numan's albums from the last decade. I say any, because he's released the same one again and again, or at least it feels that way.

What did you dream (last night)?

I dreamed that I was working in a restaurant and everything was going very poorly. As a customer was screaming at me about running out of the dolmades she ordered, a biker type wrenched the cash register off of the counter and pulled all of the money out of it. It was a bad day at dream work...

what are you eating right now

I don't feed that stuff to my child, that's for sure. I did have a few years of eating garbage as a child, so yes, Beefaroni, Ravioli- I drew the line at Spaghetti-Os because they tasted like literal vomit to me- but I think that only served to make me educate myself on cooking and how to make...

    Favorite alternative holiday songs

If the alternative is holiday music, I'll take whatever the alternative to the alternative is.

what are you eating right now

You were a picky child? I'd never have guessed.

What did make you smile today?

Happy birthday to your puglet! I know the touch of resigned sadness you speak of. I have a great Dane, and each birthday represents probably an eighth of her life lived. That's why you love and live well while you can with your furry family members.

tell us about the last Film you saw

I was frustrated, because I thought it was great. All the way up until the ending where they lost me in the final five minutes. Life is full of loose ends and untidy scenarios, so when a movie rushes to tie all of the loose ends, especially in such a complicated life story, it irks me more than...

tell us about the last Film you saw

I got around to watching The More You Ignore Me. I thought they did a wonderful job of capturing the purity and innocence of that point in a young person's life where Morrissey absolutely destroys all that came before him and you're whirled away by the difference he represented. They also did a...

what to do with appr. 70 vinyl (60s+80s)?

I was subjected to an awful lot of Journey, Brian Adams, John Cougar Melonhead, Tom Petty, and stuff like that in the car. Not heavy enough to rock out to, but not soft enough to ignore. Journey does give me the nostalgias though, I'll admit.

what to do with appr. 70 vinyl (60s+80s)?

I was talking to friends about what song, if it were playing on the car stereo as you were driving and suddenly saw mushroom clouds envelop the horizon would send you into hysterical laughter as you embraced sudden approaching death- and mine was "If this is it" by Huey Lewis. I would probably...

What did make you smile today?

You would think they would give that game a name that doesn't conjure to mind Ned Beatty having the worst rafting trip of his life. It's good fun, but I always cringe a little about the name.

    What is a devil's triangle?

I agree that there is a problem with blind faith/belief. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction and we're seeing that. If the actions on one side hadn't been so heinous for so long, I doubt we'd be seeing such hysterical reactions on the other. I don't fault women for being...

    What is a devil's triangle?

Do you blame people for being furious and wanting their voices to be heard? I'm sick of the culture of victim blaming and toxic boys club nonsense perpetrated by people who somehow think they're above scrutiny and consequence, and every day, we offer power to those who would have it be without...
