I have a bunch, but 'The Shy Retirer' by Arab Strap has been the main culprit. It has become ,I decided, one of my favorite songs of all time.It is perfect.
It certainly looks like another fine year , perhaps.I was also reading I believe we can expect a new Leisure Society album in 2010, according to pitchfork.
That is okay, I am not sure you would like them.you like the more electronically sounding things, maybe. But, those would be my 10 favorites of the year.
1.Camera Obscura - My Maudlin career
2.Trashcan Sinatras - In The Music
3.Malcolm Middleton - Waxing Gibbous
4.The Leisure Society - The Sleeper
5.The Pains of being pure at heart - The Pains of being Pure at heart.
6.Fanfarlo - Reservoir
7.Andrew Morgan - Please Kid, Remember
8.Crayon...
Generally, I am a pretentious indie c***, thus I never like typical pop shit. However, I do like the random pop song, if its dumb and fun, but I really hate Lady GaGa, oh well.My loss, my gain, whatever.
Mogwai stink, I never got into Boards of Canada, ever single one of Middleton's solo works could easily make the top twenty, and King Creosote's latest is also a gem.Franz Ferdinand's first was very good, but since they have shit the bucket.I am okay with Idlewild taking the top spot, or near...
A friend of mine recently had a very bad break up and I told him to listen to these two songs , a lot.I was thinking of other great break up or bitter post relationship songs.
What are some of your favorites?
Pulp - You're a Nightmare
And this is a crappy version, live and without...
This is part one of a great c86/twee compilation put out by Rough Trade.
