I very much agree about Autofiction. On first listen its enjoyable, but it lacks depth... And I also very much agree about Night Thoughts and The Blue Hour! Fantastic albums... Bloodsports was nice as a comeback and has great songs - but for me it sounds a bit unfocused...
If you really like Beautiful Ones, you should just start with the whole Coming Up album... It's a great album and most of the songs has that same indie-pop-glam sound...
My ranking of the studio albums:
1. Dog Man Star
2. Suede
3. Night Thoughts
4. The Blue Hour
5. Coming Up
6. Head Music
7. Autofiction
8. Bloodsports
9. A New Morning
Yes, definitely... I was there at the RAH gig in 2010 and it was overwhelming... I remember Richard Oakes just stading there giggling like a schoolboy when the standing ovation just wouldn't stop after MM... I was at the warm-up gig at 100Club a few days earlier as well! Probably the best Suede...
I've seen them live 35 times and they just seem to get better and better... How Brett can jump around like that at his age is beyond me...
Autofiction is an OK album, but for me it's not as good as Night Thoughts and The Blue Hour...
Definitely not the real thing... Both the audio and the video are mixed from the teaser... Creative though...
I can't wait to hear the actual song...! :)
So, what do you guys think about the three songs released from the new album??
I'm extremely disappointed! The songs are fairly basic Suede-by-numbers and they re-use all the familiar (woohoo) clichés,...but the worst thing is the attempt to go back to basics with a more direct rock approach...
