Rumor Scott Rodger (Maverick/Quest): Bonfire of Teenagers scheduled for Feb. 23, delayed by featured artist

If I remember correctly, at one of the vegas shows he said something along the lines of “the backing vocals were done by none other than Miley Cirus, to whom I am forever enslaved” etc etc. Further into the fog we fall, we were just following him…

Poll Which studio version (aside from RWA) from BOT are you most anticipating?

Never! The whole thing is just infectious; I adore it. Wish he would’ve included it in the US leg of the tour

Rebels Without Applause released as a single track - initially on some region's YT, now to buy & stream (November 24, 2022)

Can’t help but point out how quantized and stiff it all sounds. Instruments sounding like they’ve been rigidly programmed to a grid. The music production nerd in me is having a field day lmao

I think we’re all thinking the same thing. It all seems very unofficial, and more akin to a bootleg or a leak than a release from a major label

Maybe the vocal effects were done intentionally, as some sort of odd and damning stylistic choice

Oddly, with headphones I thought it was much easier on the ears. The mix is pretty spacious, and that bass is just sexy (imo the one redeeming quality of this)

I concur. Though I’ve only been a fan for a mere two years, it seems like his current touring band is the best he’s had in a while. I think bringing back Alain and recruiting younger musicians has really spiced up the sets and brought much more energy

LOL - I’ve too. I’ve had the thing on repeat since he premiered it in Vegas. In a live setting, the song has actual grace and charm, which really goes to show how production can make or break something I think

It’s like night and day really. It went from a warm, passionate ode to a late 90’s Cher b-side. I really cannot ignore the vocal effects

I was thrilled beyond belief to see something released, and after obsessively listening to it on loop I’m having a sort of post-nut moment of clarity. This thing is a mess

I really hope these vocal effects don’t plague the rest of the album. With this and the snippet of Veronica, I can’t help but wonder how the ballads like Saint and Oblivion will sound
