This is a discussion board about Morrissey. Here, we discuss and talk about Morrissey. The good and the bad. We do it because he interests us and we do it for a laugh. We don’t do it to try and influence Morrissey (that would be some Chapman-esque level delusion). Why is this so hard to understand?

And if true artists look after themselves, why is he so f***ing keen on being signed to - and looked after by - a (major) record label?
Never been a massive fan. He’s too abstract for me. He doesn’t move me. But sure, he’s great at what he does and it’s not hard to see why he’s been as insanely influential as he has.

That would actually be great. Imagine a really strong set of lyrics to a song like European Me or Hi Hello. That said, (latter day) Morrissey has himself written far worse lyrics than those Marr wrote for these songs.
Great to see him, great to see him look good and healthy, great to hear him talk. He was even funny at times and sometimes he made sense. But often it was way too anodyne, way too self-aggrandizing and lacking depth. And the stuff he said about countries and diversity will bury him even deeper...
