Actually feel sorry for Andy Rourke here. Friends with Johnny from school and I wouldn't think has done much to fall out of favour with JM.
Can't help feeling a lot of bitterness coming from JM of late.
Saying Isaac Brook was the best lyricist he has ever worked with seems odd.
No disrespect...
Thank you so much to everyone involved in the A-Z. For me it's been the most positive thing ever about Moz-Solo.
It's opened my eyes to some brilliant Moz songs that I had previously discarded too quickly.
Thanks again and thanks to all who contributed in the comments as I learned a lot.
They weren't bad songs just slightly throwaway with 'Fatty' the weaker of the 2 for me although I enjoy Gary Day's bass in it.
I thought they were the worst 2 songs on 'Your Arsenal' but that was such a brilliant album and they at least sounded like singles.
Where was Health & Safety when that video was being shot !
Around 1997ish I gave Boz a Paper Dolls LP in exchange for a batch of rockabilly 7".
He said he knew just the man who would want that LP.I asked who and he said Morrissey !
He also said that other than one postcard he hadn't heard from...
Good luck to them. I don't have a problem with it and count myself as blessed for twice having seen The Smiths.
One thing for sure is it's really brought the Morrissey haters out on social media.
PW championed the Scottish band The Questions and signed them to his Respond label .They supported The Jam on tour. He also gave the Jam B Side 'See Saw' to The Jolt from Wishaw who he was also a big fan of.
I think PW in general certainly in the 80's was very grumpy and uncommunicative but...
The IRA never represented Catholic people in the 6 Counties.
You will find never find a more anti-Catholic organisation in the world than the present day Sinn Fein.
Sorry. I don't mind the song so much but it's the weakest Morrissey single by a mile.
Having said that I bought the 12" which has a beautiful cover and cracking B Sides.
At the time I thought it was okay. Not brilliant. I liked the video and I remember Alain Whyte saying this was his favourite Morrissey track.
Johnny Marr on the other hand crudely called it 'Alf Wank' or something similar.
7/10
Sorry guys for me it remains the weakest single ever released from Morrissey.
It was panned at the time and I found it very hard to defend.
The fact that he has played it so many times in concert shows how much he loves it.
Song 2/10,Video 9/10 and hair 11/10.
