Poll I am not a dog on a chain - rated

8/10 and best album since Vauxhall. Quarry had some standout tracks but many subpar ones too. This album really only has one song I don’t like much. I order the songs like this: 1. River 2. Jim Jim 3. Dog 4. Ruth 5. Hurling 6. Darling 7. People 8. Knockabout 9. Love 10. Bobby 11. Secret

Dog on a Chain review in Record Collector - 2/5

Considering what he wrote, I’m surprised he gave that 2nd star! ?

Dog on a Chain review - Classic Pop (3.5 stars out of 5)

In my opinion, yes! ? I truly never listen to anything from Maladjusted except the title track, which is great. The rest is at best tolerable, but not preferable to listen to. Just never liked that album at all.

Dog on a Chain review - Classic Pop (3.5 stars out of 5)

It’s a lot to ask of an artist for his art in his 50’s and 60’s to equal that in his 20’s. Especially considering he is a totally different person now and we, the listeners, are totally different people. I used to hang on every release of fave artists with so much anxiety leading up to first...

Dog on a Chain review - Classic Pop (3.5 stars out of 5)

For me, the original version of Maladjusted was a horrible trick. The title/lead track was just amazing, only to be followed by a WEAK album. I remember hearing the album before release on a tape someone gave me and the version of Wide to Receive was far superior to the album version. So...

Could be. I’ll give it a try. Bobby has grown on me, after all!

Dog on a Chain review - Classic Pop (3.5 stars out of 5)

I love how subjective the love of music is. Even within a passionate fan base. I never had the desire to listen to Home Is a Question Mark after the first listen. Crazy.

I fully expect this album to be better than: LIHS WPINOYB YOR ROTT Maladjusted KU

Just listened to I Am Not A Dog On A Chain in full

Interesting. I think it’s one of his best songs post-2000

Just listened to I Am Not A Dog On A Chain in full

If LIOIWO is the worst track, I’m thrilled. But it’s all so subjective so hey. But I truly couldn’t believe someone trashed ROTT as being worse than other, more recent albums. I mean Pigsty enough makes it better than YOR. And The Father Who, Dear God, those are good songs. Not a great album...

Louder Than War: IANADOAC review - 9 out of 10

So very promising. I’ve become accustomed over the years to simply hoping for 2-3 good songs, maybe one great one, on a new Moz album. I have always found it strange that as he’s gotten older his voice has gotten better while his lyrics have faded though. I expected the exact opposite years ago...
