Omega Auctions: memorabilia auction results (September 8, 2020)

Would it be a fair assumption that prices are rising for signed pieces? Both The Smiths and Morrissey? Thank you FWD, for pulling this together.

SER YT shares "Brow Of My Beloved" (unreleased version), "I Couldn't Understand Why People Laughed" as a thank you (August 22, 2020)

What a lovely gesture, especially at this time. We are so lucky to have him. Let’s hope he keeps writing and singing for the next 20 years... Thank you and thank you too, Sam.

Morrissey Central "Coronation Street" (July 31, 2020)

To be fair, that's actually pretty funny. :flushed:

    Compelling Couplets

All of Maladjusted. Particularly the delivery on 25Live. Personal faves (not sure these are couplets, as such) are: You stalk the house In a low-cut blouse : "Oh Christ, another stifled Friday night!" and, When the gulf between All the things I need And the things I receive Is an ancient...

Morrissey Central (& SER YT): "DAVEY THE WIND BLOWS BITS OF YOUR LIFE AWAY" (July 2, 2020)

Crikey. What a beautiful clip. The passing of time and all of its crimes... Please! Sam, get stuck into the vault.

MusicTech: Stephen Street interview (July edition, 2020)

Thanks for that - really great to read a current piece mentioning Morrissey, without all the usual sly digs or looking for clickbait headline fodder re. disavowing him.

    Masterpieces?

Once I Saw is a good shout. Feels like a real future classic.

    Masterpieces?

Pigsty is the one, isn't it? As time passes, it's stock rises. I feel like it could become the one song that defines his career. From The Smiths and throughout the solo years, it distills his entire outlook/worldview. His oeuvre, if you will. It was really interesting to hear Alain talk about it...

    Masterpieces?

I'd add: Jack the Ripper Nobody Loves Us Lyrically, Maladjusted is a high watermark. The flowing phraseology is something that I think only Morrissey at his peak can do. He brings all the melody to the song; it truly is a masterpiece.

    Albums reissue in 2020

Alain also mentioned that he was completely unaware on one of the Twitter listening parties.

    Albums reissue in 2020

This would be great, but the lack of news is slightly concerning. There's no mention of these releases anywhere, apart from the initial 'article' on MC.

Official YouTube "Live In Dallas" Starplex Amphitheatre 1991 premieres 05/15/2020; two more forthcoming according to Rhino

Any hope that this will be an upgrade in terms of sound/resolution? I'd love something unreleased, many bands are doing this during 'lockdown'. So, whilst this isn't anything new, it is encouraging and I welcome it!

    Intriguing Twitter post from Alain

My first thought was the BMG reissues. Fingers crossed!

Johnny Marr's son Nile posts Instagram story with answer from user that criticizes Moz

Didn't JM post about "Farage on guitar...", last year? He's hardly rising above it all himself.

"Darling I Hug A Pillow" is one of his best songs ever

"Darling I..." toward the end, is the best moment on the album for me. Soars.

Darling, i hug a pillow is awful

Final minute is fabulous. Just about saves it from itself.
