What a lovely gesture, especially at this time. We are so lucky to have him. Let’s hope he keeps writing and singing for the next 20 years...
Thank you and thank you too, Sam.
All of Maladjusted. Particularly the delivery on 25Live.
Personal faves (not sure these are couplets, as such) are:
You stalk the house
In a low-cut blouse :
"Oh Christ, another stifled
Friday night!"
and,
When the gulf between
All the things I need
And the things I receive
Is an ancient...
Thanks for that - really great to read a current piece mentioning Morrissey, without all the usual sly digs or looking for clickbait headline fodder re. disavowing him.
Pigsty is the one, isn't it?
As time passes, it's stock rises. I feel like it could become the one song that defines his career. From The Smiths and throughout the solo years, it distills his entire outlook/worldview. His oeuvre, if you will.
It was really interesting to hear Alain talk about it...
I'd add:
Jack the Ripper
Nobody Loves Us
Lyrically, Maladjusted is a high watermark. The flowing phraseology is something that I think only Morrissey at his peak can do. He brings all the melody to the song; it truly is a masterpiece.
This would be great, but the lack of news is slightly concerning. There's no mention of these releases anywhere, apart from the initial 'article' on MC.
Any hope that this will be an upgrade in terms of sound/resolution?
I'd love something unreleased, many bands are doing this during 'lockdown'. So, whilst this isn't anything new, it is encouraging and I welcome it!
