What sort of nails did the tough kid who swallows nails swallow?
I'd always though it meant metal nails (for nailing wood), which would indeed be tough, but also pretty masochistic, and probably fatal so not something to be done repeatedly (or 'sometimes'). I've always been confused by the...
Right, I think I'm ready to draw my conclusions.
Given the ease in which Michael Fagan got in, I think it's just a quick nod to/stab at lack of security. The fact that the spanner was rusty, combined with the sponge makes it sound like you can get in there with any old piece of junk.
Still not...
She's being critical. (Otherwise the next line wouldn't make sense.)
I do like the idea of the sponge being a cake, I'd not thought of that at all.
But I don't think that's what he meant, it makes even less sense.
God, I really wish I hadn't woken up this morning.
Yeah, I remember that incident at the time... it's just the specific use of 'sponge' that's baffling.
It would've made more sense, for example, to say 'rope and rusty spanner'.
Sponge is bizarre. What point is he making?
Why did Morrissey break into the palace with a sponge and a rusty spanner?
I've never understood how a sponge would be an essential tool for breaking and entering?
Is it a reference to something?
Or did he use the spanner to gain entry, and took the sponge in with him for some other purpose...

Also got a Bigmouth UK 7" though I guess most peeps on here already have this. Comes with a pretty picture though. :)...
It's possibly my fave of all his albums, an opinion which has always been controversial among friends.
It suffers from shit production, yeah, but there isn't really a duff song on there (ok, possibly Harsh Truth of the Camera Eye). I sometimes wonder if ever anyone will go back and do a Raw...
A friend gave it to me in about 94/95, along with a Harvey Keitel one - they were a big Moz fan so I assumed they got them on the tours.
What do the ones you've seen look like?
1 day left on the Your Arsenal tour shirt - still under a tenner! This is an original tour shirt by the way, not a reproduction/bootleg.

Plus there's still loads of other low price odds & ends going...
The tour programmes I'm selling now have less than a day to go. Still both under £2 at the mo. :)

Could anyone direct me to a place I can hear/download this?
Was it done as a sketch or is it an audio only affair?
Have looked on YouTube to no avail. :-/
One last one for now - this beautiful 80s Smiths mirror! (The sort of thing you might have won at the fair). Had it on my wall since the 80s. :D

Have just put up an original Your Arsenal/Skinhead Girls tour shirt:

And have also listed a load of 80s NMEs featuring The Smiths on the cover. Find them towards the bottom end of this list...
