Was thinking if Moz was in LA during the Covid madness perhaps he recorded Bonfire with Andrew Watt there out of convenience as well as Watt seems to be the “it” Rock producer of late. But had Covid not happened I am willing to bet Moz probably would have returned to France and recorded it...
Elvis never wrote any part of any of the songs he recorded. His manager the colonel worked out deals that he was to be credited as a co writer for a few during his early career, but in fact they were more a money grab publishing thing. Elvis never wrote anything original ever.
I don’t think he sucks as a producer I just think The catchy melodic hooks mostly related to the older Morrissey sound and records aren’t as plentiful like they used to be. In my opinion just like The Smith’s catalog, most M records up to about Quarry were so strong that any song on those...
As a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter and producer/engineer, I find it funny that you non musicians keep referring to the keyboard synthesizers parts overdubbed on the Joe C . Produced albums as “blips and bops”
Guitarist for the band the black crows at a recent show attacked a stage invader by hitting him with his guitar neck. See link below.
I thought it was a bit unnecessary and over the top. Security was about to escort him off or at least maybe they should have let the guy stage dive back into the...
If Moz is such an F the system type of bloke that he comes across as then the ultimate F the industry would be to self release it. Label or self released I believe he would sell just about the same amount of copies. The people who are going to buy it are his true fans anyway regardless if he...
The new iggy Pop single frenzy was recorded in the same Andrew Watt produced studio backed by the same members of the Chili Peppers. Despite Iggy being a different artist then Moz for context this could be similar to the production and sound of some of the tracks on bonfire. Perhaps the drum...
I have a friend in the industry who knows Andrew Watt. Apparently there could be a deluxe version of bonfire as several more tracks were recorded including a cover of the chili peppers song, under the bridge!
Hopefully it’s not just a one off and a multiple new album deal. I’m also hoping the re-releases means if they are available on vinyl, the vinyls releases will actually cost what a piece of vinyl should cost and not be $40 or $50 or more!
Just curious let’s say The Smiths did reform for a tour. Do you think the tickets would be astronomically expensive say on the level of the Stones or even more?
Perhaps cheap nosebleed tickets could fetch 400-600 pounds and good seats would easily be 1,000 and up?
Apparently the alt rock band Weezer were scheduled to do a broadway residency next month where they were going to preform each of their new 4 album seasons protect in full each night. According to news they have cancelled the residency due to low ticket sales...
I wouldn’t say thousands higher. I’ve always enjoyed both releases about equally. They are both filled with a killer no filler style tracklist. Arsenal hits a little harder with its more glam inspired biting guitars, where Vauxhall tends to lean towards a softer groove featuring a bit more...
