  • lets hope this is true. if moz and BSP confirm then that'll make it worth paying the 90 bucks or whatever it costs now for coachella tickets. strongly recommend BSP's already classic "the decline of british sea power" to everyone. go out and purchase it straight away!

    • I saw the Pixies a few times in their days of old. I also have seen Frank Black a few times. They are an odd show to see.

Absolutely great music but they go about it in a rapid fire manner without much interaction from them to the audience. They let the music do the talking. Don't get me wrong, I will travel to see the Pixies but its a totally different experience than seeing Morrissey.

By the way, the Pixies first show is rumored to be set for early April in Boston.

The two bands to see if you haven't heard them are Death Cab for Cutie and the Mars Volta. DCFC's new record Transatlanticism is truely one of the year's best and the Mars Volta is a one-of-a-kind act that will blow your ears off...but regardless of the huge names (Radiohead, The Strokes, etc)...to see the Morrissey come back is unparalleled!

  • I can just see the sultry tones of the Thrills opening up Sunday evening, swiftly followed by the wailing beauty of Morrissey. He has often championed the band very highly, so imagine him singing with them.
The Pixies. Wow. I saw Frank black and he isn't as sharp as in days gone by, but with Kim and Joey, he will be 'digging for fire' (excuse the lame pun). apparently, the drummer isn't part of it? can anyone confirm this???

They have already been on tour with the Thrills and their album is listed among the albums of the year 2003 in several magazines, such as Rolling Stone, X-Ray and Q-Magazine!

  • I remember that rumor that Johnny Marr was going to show up playing with Beck at Coachella in 2000.

And also, that rumor that Morrissey might not show up because Alain hurt his back in Vegas or some place. To aggravate things, the bastard started his performance late. The poor DJ (DJ Liquid Todd?) before Moz had to hold off angry Moz fans for longer than he was prepared to do.

    Hi all,
Follow the above link for some news about the new Index magazine with the Morrissey cover/interview.
The photos are of him in the grounds of the studio where he's been recording You Are The Quarry. Been looking for the mag in newsagents here in London but haven't found it yet.
I'll forward the link to DavidT but thought I would stick it here in the meantime.
    Cheers.

  • Wow! The Pixies, possibly John Vanderslice, and maybe even Morrissey?

I wish I could go, but there's no way, because it's in California (and I'm not).

Would it be horribly petty and selfish of me to hope that Morrissey doesn't perform, so that I wouldn't miss such an amazing show?

Yes it would. So I don't. Have fun, you lucky, lucky American bastards.
