I heard the MOZ man attended Madonna's Drowned World Tour in Los Angeles CA, on September 14, 2001. My friend said he took pictures of him. I can't wait to see these pictures! I will keep you informed.

  • I heard Morrissey say that he actually thought Madonna was a great artist in an interview he did with KROQ back in 1990 with Richard Blade so i wouldn't be surprised if this were true.

  • This could also add credibility to the rumour that he may sign on with Maverick, the label Madonna owns... You think?

Should love be taught in school? First term: friendship; second term: tenderness; third term: passion. Why not?

  • "Madonna is closer to organized prostitution than anything else", he said in the 80s.

And now he's visiting the whorehouse himself? :-)

  • I think it's great. I've been a Madonna fan since her first album. I watched her show on HBO the other week and I loved it. She's so cool.

I wanted to see her when she came near my area, but I couldn't go.

    Hope he had fun!

  • Maybe now Moz will cover either "Frozen" or "This Used To Be My Playground" on his next CD.

  • I have to say I am terribly cynical and had come to despise Mrs. Ritchie and her endless self promotion over the past few years - use to be interested but rapidly started suffering from
Madonna Fatigue like a lot of people.

HOWEVER, having caught sight of the tour on television a few weeks back - it was the Detroit gig that she licensed to Channel 4 in England via HBO - I have to say I was terrbily impressed. Who wouldn't be. She is tireless, and I thought her performance and the cultural complexity of the show spellbinding. There is no one else around at the moment who can compete with her. She is the best entertainer around these days. For someone who is sapposedly a second rate dancer and a second rate singer - to me she is a class act. No one else could have put on a show like that.

HIGHLIGHT: For me was the 'Paradise (Not For Me)' video where she is dressed up like a geisha girl and she says:

There is a light above my head
Into your eyes my face remains

Then a very bright light comes out of her mouth. This is one of the spookiest things I have ever seen. To me it is a career defining moment and shows she is different from other artists who are not prepared to explore Eastern spirituality or any other spirituality and have it brought into their own work both on record and on stage.

    Well done Maddie!

  • As we know, Moz has changed his views of America from the early years with The Smiths. He is now much more appreciative of this country. However, he usually doesn't change his stance on his views concerning people. As far as Madonna, he stated years ago that she stands for everything he finds repulsive and that to him she stood for "Desperate Womanhood"

  • Well, if this is true, things do change, don`t they? I remember Morrissey saying some fifteen years ago that Madonna was as close to prostitution as one could get.
I wonder if he waved a lighter in the air and sang along while she did "Live to Tell" or something like that.

  • First there is terrorists! And now they're saying Morrissey is Going to be on a Madonna label!?

  • Even though I vaguely recall his professed despise of her , I've personnally always thought that Morrissey was a kind of female Madonna.
Besides, she's now married to a brit Guy whose cockney films I bet he likes.
But the music...(Well...If that's the sort of thing fortysomethings listen to ,why not him ,eh.)
She's trying hard , ol'Mado. And she's certainly fought hard for what she's got ! And all that jogging!
Why , I almost respect the old girl !
