A new system for creating an alias / handle for use in both the General discussion board and Chatroom is now in place. If you use either of these, create your forums account now. You can still use the forums without logging in, but if you do create an account no one else will be able to use the same name. This is the main reason for implementing this system.

It's not fully tested so please send me any problems you're having (there are probably a few) and also any suggestions for how things are done.

As much as I hate to do it, there will be yet another login system for the main news page coming in a few weeks. Sorry for the hassle but after that I think everything will be set for quite some time.

Why do we need a login to read the news page? And, what if we check out the discussion forums from 2 differrent computers?? (ie: work and home.) Will that create access difficulties??

Logging in to read the news page is not a good idea.
Are you trying to stop the flow of visitors to this site? This is what it will effectively do.
If I have to log into a site,just to see what it's about, I generally don't bother.

I was just thinking, like, if you got a login system set up, then, um, no one will come to your site anymore and Morrissey fans will go to other sites because this one wont be available nomore.

It's a bad idea... thats just me .

Finally something is going to be done about the discussion boards. Some clones have been impersonating me to fight with others. I really don't hate the NECK. Yeah right, and if you believe that, then I also have some swamp land in Moz Angeles too sell you!

Well, this HAS helped a bit. At least other ppl. coming in as "Mike Mozfan" and being rude; the others will know it's not me. And it happened the FIRST day of the new system! But the "icon" next to the imposter gave it away, and he left quickly! Thanks David. I WILL keep coming back; logging in is NO big deal! CHEERS!
