How Soon Is Now is also being used in the latest Nissan Maxima commercial. I was quite surprised!

I think using "How Soon is Now" in a TV commercial is a total sellout move. I can't believe Morrissey let that happen. Say it ain't so Moz... say it ain't so.

It's always HSIN! especially in America, yet hardly any of us pick it as our fave track, though it is the one that draws most people in, including me, and a fave track initially so it has it's purpose. It'd have been cool over the loudspeakers, I was waiting for a Smiths track at the REM gig last month and all I got was Stone Roses "She bangs the drums", "Blue monday" and the usual Motown, ho hum!

How Soon Is Now Maxima Commercial: Have you noticed that as soon as the music starts, it says in big white letters one the screen "Leather Seats"? hahahahaha..well, all i can say is that a few years ago i was next to him at a stoplight in La Jolla, CA and he was driving in a BMW with leather seats. not that this is that big of a deal, but i do find the Maxima commercial humorously ironic

Hey Lincoln, I think "black Morrissey" is more like a redundancy. Don't you think?

MSD, Definitely not. Do you think Moz would agree with your statement? Honestly?

oh, why is it everytime I hear a Smiths song (as heard in the Maxima commercial)anywhere else but through MY speakers I feel somehow DEVASTATED? I almost wept upon hearing my little Morrissey at american eagle *cringe* I just happened to walk in, looking for my little sister (really...I haven't been to a mall since) and right as i walked in *shudder* That music is just TOO BEAUTIFUL...too shiny and priceless like a gem - it must be sought (I know this sounds silly), not carelessly dropped in the laps of mall walkers and for CHRIST SAKES woodstock '99 goers...It's something I (and I'm sure many of you) hold near and dear, you know? It's a part of me. To see it cheapened so... However, the Maxima commercial is pretty classy ...leather seats :)

I have a part time job at a Sears and every once in a while they play "the more you ignore me" over the loudspeaker system. I inevitably stop what I am doing and look around for someone else having the same reaction. Alas, the cattle keep grazing, oblivious to the beautiful sound around them.

Speaking of music in malls. When I was in a store they t.vs. against the wall and they always play videos on them. videos you don't see on mtv. Anyway, one time a song had really caught my attention and I stoped to watch the rest of the video. I can't remember what it looked like bcause I was listening to the song and when the video was done it had read: Belle & Sebastian- Dirty Dream number 2. That's how I discovered B&S.
