Only released on DVD?! I don't know anyone with a DVD player! Sounds like a marketing scheme. But I'll still buy em.

I'm with Fabio on this one. I bought the 'At KROQ' CD single and then right after, I bought a CD player.

Also, good to see another Soft Cell fan on the net. Hey, Almond and Ball are getting back together with an album and tour. Why not Moz and Marr, too? Also Marc's releasing his autobio this year (C'mon Moz, are you up for writing yours yet?)

Sorry for straying-don't yell at me. I wonder who's buying the DVD player because of the Moz DVD.

I hope there will be VDC option rather than just DVD in order to meet with those who do not own any DVD player at home.

If you truly love movies and want to see them with their integrity intact (by this I mean widescreen) AND with the best picture quality available (three times the resolution of standard vhs), then dvd is for you. A Smiths and Morrissey dvd was something I really was not expecting, so that really will be a treat!

I for one shall certainly be buying
a DVD player (the 1st generation one :
DVD-A - (those South Park fans out there,
will understand the Abbrv.)

Anyway, Why don't you Buy the Discs,
Record them onto VHS, then give them
back to the shop, and with the money
get some Rolling Stones (Pre 1973 of course)

Er....how much does a DVD player cost?? And if i buy one, what's to become of all my videotapes? Will they become obsolete? Technology can be groovy and all, but i really resent being forced to buy into it and spend money i don't friggin' have!
Grrrrrrrr....!

I am actually looking forward to this new Moz DVD. My Dell computer has a DVD player (na na na na na!) and with a 21" monitor, the view will be amazingly grand. Viva Moz!

Yeah, if "progress" means better sound, more extras (trailers, deleted scenes, etc.), widescreen and better viewing quality...I don't want any part of it! I want to watch my movies, etc. in a poor quality medium, or not at all!

(sarcasm should be duly noted)

DVD...Yeah, I have one. Thank God too! I'm surprised that my VCR hasn't worn a hole in "Sister I'm a Poet". (Hulm aw @#!!! you know which one)
Listen. Why the hell do Smiths fans think it's clever to harp signatures/phrases from Smiths/Morrissey songs as their handle? Man, that's so damned STANDARD! Stop it!

I honestly don't know why I should buy a DVD-player. I don't think Morrissey is acting very clever here. The sale of his records is going down constantly and this is not going to help. He'd better record a sweet song, release it and conquer TOTP.

I'm still clinging to a my Japanese versions of "Hulmerist" and "The Malady Lingers On" in LaserDisc format.

I'll just have to sell the player and discs back to my friend...

Well It's about damn time...I knew buying a DVD player did not go in vain. Luckly, I wasn't like the other smucks who bought a lazerdisc player. Ha Ha Ha! Now I can watch Morrissey the way I want. DVD. Plus, I can stop watching "the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and start watching Morrissey!

It's extremely frustrating. DVD players are expensive, but you get so much in a 5" disc. I want one so bad. The horror, the horror!

IMPORTANT: I love technology. DVD's ok. I don't have one because: 1)MAIN REASON: It is NOT and will NOT be compatible with HDTV standards (coming soon). An extreme DVD format change is required. 2) They've changed the format three times already! (First generation DVD players will be obsolete soon). 3)DVD, like mini-disc and DCC, uses data COMPRESSION. Small visual details are omitted. They say you'll never notice. BUT, here's a common example: Watch the tree's leaves in the wind during a scene in a park setting. The leaves do not flutter, they figgit - digitally. 4) This is the same reason DAT and CD are musically far superior to mini-disc, DCC, and mp3 (Which I like). ALL SAID AND DONE: LDV is bulky. DVD's current format is short-lived. Morrissey on DVD? I own his LDV's without a player. I'll buy the DVD's too.

I will probably be in line for the Morrissey/ Smiths DVDs as soon as they are released! But as far as purchasing a DVD player, well, I can wait another year before I do that. History shows that the price is too high and the quality not quite there when the technology is new. But give it a year or so and the price will drop considerably as the quality increases. Do I actually sound like I know what I'm talking about? :) Anyhow, let me know if anyone gets a "shweet" deal on a DVD and I'll reconsider.
Shalom!
