Thanks to everyone who mailed in the info. Thanks to Matt for the link to the official Coachella site. From Ray Chou:

...tickets for the Coachella Festival at Indio, California go on sale this Saturday, August 7, 1999 (select Ticketmaster outlets, 9am). Although it is a two day event, MORRISSEY will only be performing on the first day (October 9, 1999).

Along with Morrissey performing on the main stage will be Beck, the Chemical Brothers, Perry Farrell, the John Spencer Blues Explosion and Cornelius.

  • Ticketmaster "Internet Onsale" date and time is also Aug. 7, 9am. So far this is the only concert that has been confirmed. From what I've heard other tour dates have been changing around, so keep checking the main page (rather than e-mailing me) for the most current info.

i went to the coachella site and was a bit disappointed. why is Morrissy headlined next to the Chemical Bros?? with a dash too!! shouldn't he have his own line?? and maybe at the top?? i think i will wait until he tours before i fork out any 50 bucks...maybe i'll just listen to me cd's cuz i'm broke too...hehe

According to Paul Billings w/Coachella, 35,000 tickets per day will be available. Earlier someonne mentioned upwards of over 60,000 being sold. Well this looks like 60,000 TOTAL for both days, not each. Thats still a lot of people, but not as many as I thought. Surely people are going to travel from out of state to this event so there may be a possibility of it selling out sooner than expected.

Being listed next to the Chemical Brothers obviously means that Moz will be singing with them.
.........Only joking.

Heard Richard Blade of KROQ mentioned that Johnny Marr is in fact going to play with Beck. Who happens to be playing the same night as Morrissey. Hmm...this is going to be a landmark event. GO rush and get your tickets before they sell out. Just in case the unexpected happens.

Imagine that $50 each day. Hmmmm 50 multiplied by 35,000 people equals $1,750,000 each night. so in two night the person who runs this festival will be $$$$$ 3,500,000 RICHER. Thats all alot of the green stuff. Its all worth it though just to see Morrissey, and Johnny Marr playing the same day. Wow, I would @#!!!ing freak out if they came out together letting all their differences aside, for the last song of the night. And then out comes Andy and Mike from across the stage and then the impossible happens. The SMITHS REUNION, well I can dream can't I.....

Thank the Lord for internet sales....no busy signals for me.

Are there going to be any meet ups before the show, or are we expected to bump into each other in a crowd the size of a small city?

I WOULD NOT TRY TO BUY TICKETS OVER THE INTERNET, BECAUSE OF ALL THE TRAFFIC GOING ON IN CYBERSPACE, ITS ALOT EASIER FOR A HACKER TO GET YOU CRECITCARD NUMBER, AND STUFF LIKE THAT....

Instead of trying to buy the tickets online or over the phone, I would suggest going to the nearest Ticketmaster that's going to sell the tickets (if that's possible). Waiting in line for hours, (like I've done in the past), is a lot better than not getting tickets at all. By the way, if there is some type of get together as Suzanne said, post it. That would be fun to meet you guys! Later!

Yeah, having a meet up will be cool. How about Thursday night at café blue, Friday night would be cool also or just at a restaurant or something Saturday morning. Well, those are just ideas. If anyone know of anything please let us know…

I'm coming over from Munich this summer to spend some time in L.A. and I'll definitely go to "Mozzarella". Can anyone of you please tell me how far it is from Beverly Hills to Coachella and how long it will take me by car? Thanks in advance!

Oh no!! "Line Up Subject to Change" sounds a bit fruity, rather similar to "Never Confirmed In The First Place" (that old chestnut!!).

Sorry to be negative, I'm only jealous because none of the UK dates have been confirmed!

Mozzer and the Chems could work actually, if only dance music wasn't so "vile"!

Does it really matter who Morrissey is on stage with? They will all be in ore of him anyway!!
The Chemical Brothers hardly rate highly in my estimations and I doubt in his either.

Dude this totally rocks, I cant wait!!!! I saw
the Blair Witch Project last night, it scared the
hell out of me. Wouldn't it be totally awesome if
Johnny and Moz wrote a song about the movie and played it to their devoted slaves at the Festival?
We have got to pick a place for all of us to meet,
and kick the hackey sack around?? Some one get on it and choose a sight for us to worship our leader!!!!

Warren,

If you're not going to bring something intelligent to the conversation, please go play on someone else's time. True Moz fans don't think you're funny.

Thanks in advance....

Hey Headmaster, I am a fan!! I've seen Moz
6 times and even got to shake his hand in front
of his hotel plus I hung out with Alain and his
bodyguard in the hotel bar, I was so nervous I forgot to have him sign my Manchester United Jersey. I've read Severed Alliance twice. I'm sorry for not being as cool as you. When I see you at the show you can apologize then. Love Peace and happiness to everyone! Warren is out............
