From Henrik Rydéhn:

...on www.passagen.se (Swedish site), there is a little article/interview about/with Electronic. There was this tiny interesting part. My translation:

In the 1980s <...>, they were in their separate Manchester bands, "fighting" each other,  in a struggle created by the British music press.

-"But for us, it wasn't like that", says Johnny. "I was a New Order fan, bought all the maxi-singles and went to the concerts. We even did concerts together."
-"Morrissey maybe thought it was some kind of rivalry", says Bernard.
-"Morrissey is in rivalry with everyone", comments Johnny.

From kalle:

In an interview for the Swedish newspaper EXPRESSEN, promoting the new Electronic album, Johnny Marr told us that never plays Smiths songs except for the Linda McC. concert.

-"I was very tempted to sing (in a very Morrissey-like way) Ohh I never, Ohh I never Ohhh, in the end of "Meat Is Murder", but I didn't want to steal the show from Linda."
