Morrissey at the Bowlarama

From Alicia:

Well for all you fans out there Moz did show up at the Bowlarama... He went right into the bar, good for the 21 and over but bad for the youngins... But either way the youngins didn't care and found their way in... Fans were crowding Moz -- he seemed maybe a lil disturbed but still took time to sign autographs. One of his friends was trying to stop the fans talking to him but it didn't work... All I can say now my heart is full.

He did sign my back and wrote my favorite song, Speedway. He ended up leaving early because one fan -- one fan bugged him, pushed him, hanging all over him so he left, but the place rocked with Boz.

From Sueadhead:

...Morrissey, as I was hoping, praying, and wishing for, was at the Boz Boorer show tonight, and he looked extremely well!!! He was smiling a lot and in a very good mood! He was there for about an hour and 45 minutes or so he sat down and had his usual, Coronas. He signed a lot of stuff for a lot of people the whole night and posed for many people's pictures. Which was very surprising because at times he was being very crowded. But he was very understanding and was there for a very long time. Eventually it was too much for him and he had to leave but I got pictures and autographs as did my girlfriend. She also took pics of him posing and being his usually cynical self. Oh and by the way Boz Boorer was incredible, he is a very amazing guitarist. I recommend everyone to go see him when they have a chance. Even if you don't like rockabilly, you never know who you might run into at one of his shows.

Ok...me and my boyfriend got to the place like at 7 or so and Boz got there with friends and family at around 7:30. They hung out playing pool for a while and then boz joined his daughter at the pin balls machines for about an hour. ;) Boz cursed under his breath when he lost a ball.
I, being underage wasnt allowed in the bar but i got in and they never asked for my ID after that.
Then, of course, Morrissey shows up and at first...no one bothered him. He was sitting at his table for a while downing the corona's and playing with his gum.
I did get his autograph. He signed a picture that I drew of him and as he walked away, I grabbed his face and kissed him! (he needed to shave). Although, I wasnt as lucky as Alicia. He pratically stripped her clothes off to sign her back!
Morrissey was there for about an hour and a half. Let me say that it was the best hour and a half in my life!!! Im glad that i sat at the table next to his...he was so close..yet so far! He looked lovely!
By the way, Jose, from sweet and tender hooligans, if youre reading this, email me.

Well, speaking as a very UNlucky American who happens to live on the WRONG coast, I just have this to say: WHY DOESN'T HE EVER HANG OUT IN THE NYC AREA??? Probably because no one good ever plays here. HMPH!

This lucky Angelino got there at around eight. I started bowling with a friend/Morrissey Fanatic, who looked like if he knew Morrissey was on his way. After bowling the best game of my life my fanatic friend, ANDY MAGALLON tells me, " He's here", I said yeah dick, after making him swear on his mother's life I went to go check it out for my self. I did not see him, so I went back to play some pin ball. Then my girlfriend told me "it's really him", I said it's probably just some middle aged rock'a'billy man who came to drink some beer and watch the show. Again I had to check it out for myself, I am a youngin' so I had to sneak my way into the bar. Oh my God it was really Morrissey, a few people were around him, not as many as you would think, I was thinking, it's Morrissey. He seemed a little bothered or something, maybe because of the fans around him or because it was crowded or maybe because of this one girl who was pulling on his arm and wouldn't let him go. Anywho he signed some stuff for his fans and I got a few snaps of him drinking his corona's. I got a question who was that girl he left with??

I have quite different feelings about stuff like this. Part of me is really jealous that such things only seem to happen in the US but on the other hand I find it hightly impolite to actually force someone to leave a place because it is just not possible for him to stay. By doing so he`s becoming more isolated than before -as weird as it seems. If he can`t go out to see a friend play, well, what would you think? O.k. he must have known that this would happen but still. I wouldn`t want this to happen to me.

I agree with you 100%,elsberry. I have not found myself in that type of situation (meeting Moz) so no telling what I would do - but the fact of the matter is he should be able to take in a show and drink a few beers without being harassed - I guess it just bothers me that some fans are so pushy...or I suppose that I am just jealous!!!

Imagine my surprise when Moz sat right next to me. After 3 straight games of bowling I told my friend to go grab us a table while I ran out to my car. When I came in and searched for my friend I found he was sitting at the table next to Boz's enterage, which in itself was kind of nice. Anyway, I had no idea that an hour or so later I'd be sitting next to Moz. I was upset at how he was being hounded like choice steak, so I kept my composure and tapped him on the shoulder and said "I hate to bother you, I just want to say I'm a huge fan." He shook my hand, said thank you, and I left him alone as everyone else should have.

Verry nice that everybody got to touch him and get his autograph. But what I'd really like to know if anybody took the time to ask him, when the $%#%% he'll release another album?
Maladjusted is quite a few years old now and I already knew everything on MEBY so I'm anxiously awaiting something new.

Hey Anna - I pinched Morrissey's bum once, outside the Caird Hall in Dundee, Scotland, in 1991 (the show that got cancelled when he lost his voice halfway through). He visibly jumped, but was facing the other way - he was entering the hall, surrounded by a throng of fans, and I was standing right behind him. I could see a few greying hairs on the back of his head too.
