In a rather sad display of the values of patience former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke has declared himself bankrupt only months after drummer Mike Joyce won £1 million in back royalties. Rourke (who struggled with Heroin addiction while in the band) was unable to benefit from the ruling because he had already accepted an £83,000 out-of-court settlement.

Meanwhile ex-best pal Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr was recently estimated to be worth £2million while lead singer Morrissey's wealth was around £8million. (The 100 Richest Stars In Rock)

No need to dredge up another litanny of "Andy's a loser" posts; it's an embarrassing, unfortunate thing and we (as Smiths fans, presumably) should be considerate of this. Anyway, what else is there to possibly say about it?

I think it's sad that people on this post would want to make fun of someone else's misfortune especially when it is someone who at one point made the most beautiful music with the best band of the 80's. Andy was the most underated bass player ever and even now in the 90's there are very few bass players who are as creative and talented as he was. I'm very sorry to hear about Andy's money problems and I wish him well.
