There's a story going round the web at the momemnt that quotes Marr talking his current relationship to Moz

"It's not necessarily the case that we're not talking," he said. "We have email. We worked on that 'Sound Of The Smiths' [2008 compilation album] together. Who's got time for a feud? Right now I have got screwdrivers inside guitars, my car broke down yesterday… I've got no time for a feud."

Speaking about a possible reunion he added: "I like The Smiths' songs, but I like playing with two guitars and writing new songs. Unfortunately a reunion would go against both those things."

Many sites are reporting this but the source is the Norwich Evening News. link to story:

Pete Doherty: "To Punch Morrissey" - German Weekly "Die Zeit"

It seems that Pete Doherty still has some bad feelings against Moz.

“To Punch Morrissey”

http://www.zeit.de/2009/40/Traum-40

The German weekly "Die Zeit" has a section called “I have a dream”, where people talk about their dreams and wishes.

This week, Pete Doherty talks about taking revenge on Morrissey for beeing humiliated by him.

The article starts with Pete talking about his early life - listening to the Smiths and his dream of becoming Morrissey.

I tried to translate the main part:

“Years later I actually met Morrissey, very briefly. My first band The Libertines played for him as opening act. We hardly talked. And then he said to the press some very unkind things about me, concerning my drug addiction, called me a cliché, thought I'd try to do something that would have already done Sid Vicious.

Honestly, with Morrissey's knowledge about drugs you can fill the back of a postage stamp.

Then he did something ugly: After I was expelled from the Libertines, he replaced the New York Dolls-sticker on his lapel with Libertines motifs. He enjoyed my humiliation. I felt hurt.

When I see Morrissey the next time, I would punch him. And when he is lying on the ground, I would give him my hand. I remove the dust from his clothes - and then I would offer him a collaboration as an act of reconciliation.”

Johnny Marr is interviewed in the Weekend magazine with today's Eastern Daily Press but annoyingly the article isn't online. He's promoting The Cribs gig at the UEA on Wednesday.

Inevitably they ask him about The Smiths and he says his favourite album is Strangeways here we come. And about a reunion he says the usual I'm too busy etc.

Scan of article here.

Brighton Rock (2010) - IMDB

Kind of disappointed--wanted Brenda Blethyn to play Ida. She seems perfect for it. As far as Dallow, Spicer, Pinkie, Cubitt...who knows.
