(davidt): This was clearly stated as a likely hoax and the person who submitted it to various sites even admitted it, so I don't think 'fansites are hitting melting point' is accurate.

We've had a fantastic response for writers for the site. It's great to know that there others out there like us who can see the absurdity in this whole Morrissey thing.
We're now looking for contributions from artists & cartoonists. We have a small budget for artwork and we're willing to pay for the best & brightest cartoons parodying Morrissey, the band, the fans, or the ridiculous world of Morrissey (no, not the album, but if you could make the album funny then that too.).
Futhermore, we're still looking for 2 more writers. If you have a peverse sense of humour and can write cleverly write about Morrissey-related events then you should write for us. We have a modest budget and pay for the articles we publish.

An anonymous person writes: Morrissey is mentioned in the lyrics of Wakefield band The Old House's (possibly named after The Smiths song "back to the old house"?) new single "Relationships Hooray!". The chorus is: "Maybe one day, you'll say You're the one for me, buddy (x2) But only Morrissey would say something as great as that" Its a very good song which I recently heard played on Lamacq on BBC Radio 1. This song is available on 7" vinyl from Wrath records ( link).

An anonymous person writes: Whilst reading the free MEN light newpaper this Thursday i was shocked and ashamed to discover that David Cameron (possibly the next Tory leader) is a self proclaimed Smiths Fan.
The paper was asking both David Cameron and David Davis what they knew about Manchester and where they have been. Cameron stated that he had been to Salford, so he could go and pose outside Salford Lads club. !!!

LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A US music group said it had sued the owner of the world's largest independent music catalog for 50 million dollars for allegedly failing to supply albums for release in a hybrid disc format.
The 5.1 entertainment group said it had filed suit against British-based Sanctuary Records Group for alleged breach of contract and fraud linked to a deal to supply albums by artists including Morrissey, Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant and Meat Loaf.
The 5.1 group claims in its suit filed in Los Angeles in July that Sanctuary deliberately flouted a 2003 deal to supply music to 5.1 for release in the DualDisc format, a hybrid compact disc and DVD.
