David Thorpe mentions Morrissey's comments on American Idol and his upcoming album. There is a game where you can guess which tracklisting is real and which is fake. My personal favorite is "Jesus Won't Save You From Being a Bore".

Also included is a shout-out to Morrissey-Solo.

Excerpt:
--After a merciful seven-year absence, lugubrious Los Angeles stadium-filler Morrissey has decided to mope back into our lives with a new record entitled “You Are the Quarry.” Details of the tracklist have recently been announced and they’re certainly characteristic of the Mozzer, with the average song title tipping the scales at close to five words long. Here’s a fun little exercise: let’s see if you can pick out which of these tracklists is authentic and which one is false (since the devil mixes his lies with the truth, some real songs are in the fake one):

01. America Is Not the World
02. Irish Blood, English Heart
03. I Have Forgiven Jesus
04. Come Back to Camden
05. I'm Not Sorry
06. The World Is Full of Crashing Bores
07. How Could Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel?
08. The First of the Gang to Die
09. Let Me Kiss You
10. All the Lazy Dykes
11. I Like You
12. You Know I Couldn't Last
01. Oh Oscar, You Are A Dear
02. When Will I Find What I Need In This Life?
03. I’m Really Quite Displeased
04. How Dolly To Vada Your Eek
05. I’m Not Sorry
06. No Good Shall Come Of It
07. The Scoundrels in Political Office
08. The First of the Gang to Die
09. You Will Realize My Love Someday
10. All the Lazy Dykes
11. Jesus Won’t Save You From Being A Bore
12. How Truly Dreadful

In related news, Morrissey has voiced his displeasure at American Idol in a recent interview on LA’s KROQ radio station, saying of the contestants: "I think they’re very sad and I feel sorry, genuinely sorry for them. I think they look a bit sad and they sound sad and they’re treated in a sad way… and I think it’s very unfortunate." Morrissey calling you sad? Ouch! My apologies go out in advance to the folks at morrissey-solo.com, who have even as I write this already gotten wind of its existence through the magical Morrissey ether and pronounced it “dreadfully boring.”

From Rolling Stone Magazine Online:

"Prince isn't the only Eighties icon making a huge go of it in 2004, as Morrissey -- following the release of You Are the Quarry, his first album in seven years -- will head out on Lollapalooza. Joining the reclusive crooner will be eccentric Oklahoma rockers the Flaming Lips, their Texan kindred spirits the Polyphonic Spree, Colorado jam band the String Cheese Incident and veteran New York City noise mongers Sonic Youth.
This year's festival will be a two-day event, with additional artists and itinerary to be announced in the next few weeks.

Founded by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza launched in 1991 and ran through 1997, featuring such acts as Pearl Jam, Beck and the Beastie Boys. After skipping five years, the tour returned last year with a lineup including a reunited Jane's Addiction, Audioslave and Incubus.

"This summer, Lollapalooza will embody the spirit of the Gypsy!" said the colorfully cryptic Farrell in announcing the tour. "Our buses of artisans sleeping over in each and every city will spread the sense of exhilaration. The days and nights will be filled with mischief."
