I might have missed this elsewhere on the board but can't find it, but having just listened to the recording of Geoff Travis talking to Liz Kershaw on BBC R6 for the Smiths week, he says after about 7:30 minutes into the interview that he heard a "little rumour" that Morrissey signed a deal "two nights ago," which puts it in early May.

I heard from a friend who owns several music venues in and around London that someone was making enquiries to book gigs in the summer for a band that consisted of Alain Whyte, Gary Day and Spike Smith. If anyone knows anything more please post some news, it would be great to see them playing together!
