Granada TV, the Manchester based Independent TV station covering the North West of England (and makers of Coronation Street) are producing a documentary on The Smiths to be shown in November this year to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the bands first gig at The Ritz.

The producer is Dave Nolan, who made a similar documentary last year, based on his book 'I swear I was there' marking the 25th anniversary of the Sex Pistols first visit to Manchester in 1976 - to an audience of around 30 some of whom went on to become leading artists themselves years later, including Morrissey, Linder, the Buzzcocks, Barney and Hooky (New Order / Joy Division) Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) and Tony Wilson.

The launch this week in Manchester for the book 'Morrissey's Manchester' was filmed by the producer as part of the documentary.

I just checked www.ticketmaster.com and it's still letting you buy tickets for both Vegas gigs, so I guess they put more on-sale.

I got an e-mail from Club101 (the place selling tickets to the August 6th El Paso Show at Club Vallare). The message they sent me was: "The El Paso show is sold out! No More Tickets. Thanks"

Their web site, http://www.club101.com confirms this as well.
