At least Mike's Homepage is working. I went there to get the unheard tracks, of course. Here is what I found on www.mikejoyce.com:

AUDIO NEWS

Statement From Mike Joyce

Hello People...

Due to the legal implications of putting up the Smiths tracks. I am currently seeking advice as to the best way to get these tracks heard. I will keep you informed of any progress. Sorry About the delay.

Love and Peace

Mike

P.S. There is only one factor in this that is stopping me from putting these tracks up on this site. I'm sure you all know what/who that is....

Ben also adds "...Mike already has some exciting features on his site including several rare photos and an auction for many rare Smiths items."

A friend of mine sent me this email (he's not much of a fan). I'm so jealous! Just thought I'd share with you:

oh u r gonna kill me, but: i saw/talked to MOZ last night!!!!!!!!!!!! he was at the troubadour for a show. i talked to him! i was up in the "vip" section cus i know a guy from one of the bands. i was kinda drunk, but i was like "hey! theres moz, adrianna would shit her pants if she was here." so i was like: "im gonna go talk to him." so i went up to him and put out my hand and asked if he was morrisey. and he said yes. then i forgot exactly what i said, but i asked when he was gonna put out a new album and he just shrugged and said he wasnt sure.

then i asked if he gets annoyed with everyone comin up to him all the time.(cus he was getting mobbed by a bunch of people for a while, but then he escaped up into the vip section.) he said that he doesnt mind it at all. he said its nice that people still notice him and he is grateful that they still like him and arent too mad about not havin a new album out. then i told him that u lovedddddddd him and he kinda blushed and said to tell u that he is very flattered. then for a few mins i just bs-ed him about the bands and stuff. then i said bye and that it was nice meeting him. he said the same. so neaner neaner neaner! hhehe dont be too mad, i was gonna have him sign something for ya, but by the time i went to talk to him again, he left.

Two bands, Desaparecidos featuring Conor from Bright Eyes and Rilo Kiley, were listed on the Troubadour calendar for Feb. 14. Apologies to Mozzeybite for taking so long to post this, it was originally submitted on Feb. 16.

From the March 1st 2002 edition of the London Independent:

'His obscurity [Reilly's] is the least of it. He has, after all, been a musician of unassailable daring and integrity from the release of his first, Martin Hannett-produced album, The Return of the Durutti Column, in 1980 – the one that came in a sandpaper sleeve that was withdrawn because it damaged the neighbouring albums in record-shop racks. His closest brush with success was in 1988, when his intricate playing graced Morrissey's first solo album, Viva Hate. Morrissey invited him to co-write a follow-up, so Reilly suggested they collaborate on something experimental, in the spirit of Patti Smith's Radio Ethiopia. "He hasn't spoken to me since," he shrugs.'

The rest of the interview is centered around the movie '24 Hour Party People' about Factory Records in the 1980's. The interview is found here:

The band Sianspheric (Sonic Unyon Records) have a new album out called "The Sound of the Colour of the Sun" in which a song titled "Radiodiffusion" is given writing credit to Morrissey/Marr.

I've listened to it a couple of times and it is really difficult to figure out what Smith song they are actually covering as Sianspheric's sound is very shoegaze/dreampop reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine. My best guess is that they are covering "Money Changes Everything" but I am not quite sure. Anyone know?

Found the answer at this review at Jam! Showbiz - Heavy is new light with Sianspheric by Keiran Grant (June 1, 2001):
The band are also adept at creating a gentle racket, and the Floyd-ishly titled Childrenrunningthroughovergrowntallgrass and Radiodiffusion -- which melts into a spectral cover of The Smiths' Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want -- reverberate with haunting effectiveness.
