Ian Tilton website - Never-before-seen images of Kurt, Morrissey, Iggy Pop and many more...

Ian has photographed Morrissey in a studio situation (at Ian's home studio) and 'live' at the G-Mex in Manchester, along with consulting with Morrissey at M's flat when he lived in Altrincham, Cheshire, North West England. I asked Ian for some anecdotal stuff.... (Q&A follows):

Here are two shots taken at the Ace Bar in London (Feb. 9). Boz played guitar and sax in a Gene Vincent tribute band. Alain Whyte got up to sing a tune. Dibbs from The Rockats is in the other photo.

Brian Colin writes:

The Scottish band Camera Obscura ( very Belle & Sebastian-like; one track is even produced by Stuart Murdoch ) have made a Smiths reference in their song "Pen and Notebook" on their new CD Biggest Bluest Hi-Fi.

The line goes:
"You saved for a bass guitar...
You knew you'd made a mistake
when you first saw Marr"

Right up there with Belle & Sebastian's "Seymour Stein," I'd say.

New York band 'My Favorite' mentioned in Alternative Press : "100 Bands You Need To Know In 2002" article.

"With songs packing sentiments like "Loneliness is pornography to them, but to us it is an art." My Favorite are the logical new choice for dose disaffected folks who wore out their copies of Smiths' Louder Then Bombs..." - [AZ]

Thomas writes: These Charming Men the best Smiths and Morrissey tribute band ever are playing this Saturday the 23rd of February, in the Temple Bar Music Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin. The band haven't played a show in almost a year and have been sorely missed!! It's a guaranteed great night night out and I'd advise and Smiths/Morrissey fans (or anyone with any taste to check it out!)
