For What it's worth, the latest episode of Gossip Girl made several prominent mentiones of Morrissey.

Characters involved in a very contentious plotline made plans to go to the Morrissey show at the Bowery. The backstory was that they had seen him together 5 times, recalling how they threw gladiolas at the stage the first time they saw him (when they were in Grade 7).

Perhaps not Masterpiece Theatre, but several prominent mentions on a well-known US show...

There were many references to Morrissey on the Cw's Gossip Girl, monday night. Probably influenced by Hilary Duff, who is a special guest star on the show.

  • I actually attempted to read one of the GG books at the beach a few years ago before the show and I was shocked to see that Moz was referenced. I read about 20 pages and that reference was the only good part. The author must be a fan.

  • I saw it in between commercials of Dancing with the Stars. Dan said that he & Vanessa wear tight shirts to the Moz concerts.

  • A bunch of rich new yorkers who do drugs, have casual sex, and post information about it on the internet.
I know that these kids must get a lot out of Morrisey's songs. Hell, they saw him 7 perform 7 times (even though they were born in 1990.)

    Great show - great fans

  • awful, awful show (Score:1, Insightful)

Plastic acting and winter tans in their teenage years, humourless bitching and self-importance without either sufficient self-reflection to be amusing or sufficient lack of insight to be ironic.

Another useless show, written by idiots for idiots in America.
