  • Bernard Butler should have collaborated with Moz in his (Butler's) heyday, the early '90s. Such a shame he didn't.

    He was Johnny Marr's natural heir. Oh well.

  • I personally find Johnny Marr's false modesty and his willingness to throw his oar in with any old Tom, Dick and Bernard Sumner utterly grating. Why can't he just accept that nobody gives a toss about Electronic or Modest Mouse or the bloody Cribs and acknowledge he was one of the creative geniuses behind the best band the world has ever seen?

  • You've just got to face the fact that Johnny is a fantastic composer and musician, whilst Morrissey is merely a lyricist. Apart from "Boomslang" and the third Electronic album, Marr has not done much wrong over the last 22 years. Whereas Morrissey just keeps churning out one turkey after another. This award is richly deserved!
