'PANIC': A night dedicated to the music of The Smiths and Morrissey will be held in Galway at 'Club De Burgos' Augustine St, on the Friday 19th of June. This is the first event of it's kind to be held in Galway and will be in honour of the great Moz's 50th year. Dj's Foz and Jonnie will be at the controls playing 'the songs that saved your life!!! An epic journey from 'Hand In Glove' to 'Something Is Squeezing My Skull', a night not to be missed by Smiths/Morrissey fans!! Doors 10.30pm. Adm €5 before Midnight, €7 after.

  • Paul McCloone, radio DJ on Today FM Mon-Thurs evenings (he still tours with his original band, none other than The Undertones) read out a text advertising this event in Galway for Smiths fans this evening.

    He added that he would be lifting his moratorium on playing Morrissey tunes next week, imposed in deference to non-fans after airing Moz & Smiths music exclusively for 3 hours's celebration on the eve of Morrissey's birthday. You can tell it's been hard for him...
