The opening of the preview for (500) Days of Summer has Zooey Deschanel singing There Is A Light That Never Goes Out in an elevator.

Being a Smiths fanatic..I remember how powerful a feeling it was to meet someone who shares that with you. Especially when most people have no clue who the Smiths were. I knew I was going to marry my husband when I got in his car for the 1st time and I saw a Rank cassette on the floor. Yeah it sounds corny but its true.

  • This looks great...yes, a tad stereotypical (he's got a Joy Division shirt on in a scene) but hey..I take what I can get.

This or another 'Marley And Me' or some other worthless crap? I'll take what I can get.

  • Outsider Chic (Score:3, Interesting)

This scene continues the current cinematic thread where the protagonists of the love story are seen drawn together by cool 'indie' music. Other examples being of course, Zach Braff and Natalie Portman getting together over The Shins 'New Slang' in Garden State, and Ellen Page and Michael Cera expressing their fondness for each other through The Moldy Peaches 'Anyone Else But You'.

I'm sure there are others but if this film is anywhere near as good as the two I've mentioned, it should be well worth seeing.

Yeah, it seems credible and engaging enough.

'Let the Right One In' was booked out early at the Dublin Film Festival a few weeks ago (why I missed it), and was chosen afterwards as a favourite. Another to watch out for. : )
