  • Although, i said like "quarry"
it would be in the 70's,the 2nd wk
it will be out of the top 100 next week -
unless the supposed "huge Latino following"
is not the myth ,I always knew it was !!

  • As always, this report lacks the specifics.

Are these physical copies? Are these digital, downloaded copies from iTunes and other sources? Does this number combine physical and digital copies?

    Clarity, please...

    • I am the guy who gives the US sales numbers to david.

the US numbers are all formats combined. so this number includes CD, LP, and downloads (yes, iTunes is included in that number).

what this does not include is track-by-track sales. which i haven't pulled but i cant imagine for someone like morrissey would be significant.... its not like he has a hit single.

  • I live in Chicago and there isnt one station that plays his music. In the US I really dont think he's gotten many new fans like he has in the UK. Most of his fan, myself included have gotten older and buying music isnt a priority anymore.

  • I think the leak of the album did a fair amount of damage to the sales. A leak the week before release doesn't hurt but leaking well over a month cannot be good. A leak the week before creates buzz if the album is good and people keep it in mind for release day. But when there is so much time between leak and release people simply drift off and forget about it.

  • when the album adds up total sales worldwide, it will be a decent showing from an artist who never sold out. look, we as morrissey fans know hes not modern radio material. in my opinion, thats a good thing. so when his worldwide sales can total 200k in a few weeks, its pretty damn successful honestly. his fans took the record into decent sales, thats what matters. hell, you could even say placing #11 week one for an artist like morrissey in the age of piracy is a testament to his following amongst the people who understand what hes about.

  • maybe the album isn't selling well because it's loud, tuneless shite!

Because crap is what it is, no matter how much so-called "critics" praise it.

Is there any album which was a top 10 1week,who
    did more?

I think only Viva Hate, but dunno

  • Another thing i sometimes listen to radio 1 in the uk(the station for the younger dudes).I never heard his single once.So how's he gonna get new younger fans to buy his records.U2 get coverage on Radio 2 (for the over 20's) and radio 1 .But not our Morrissey.
