Steve Jones (the Sex Pistol) was there. A proper dude. Can't tell you what a buzz it is to have 2 of the people who are absolutely responsible for you making music in the room. I love meeting my heroes. They're all top, top geezers.

Gig was good. Went to the after show to see a few cats who come over from England. Didn't hit it hard though. Got my boy in town. Not fair dad rolling in at dawn stinking the gaff out. Got another 2 weeks of that.

Which brings me to tonight. Back in Vegas. At The Palms. Very 70s. Ricky Hatton's in town (again!) as is Russell Brand and the elusive Matt Morgan. Gonna watch the Oscar de la Hoya fight and then rip it up (so to speak). Could and should get messy.

    I wish Noel would make his mind up.He said the main inspiration for learning the guitar was Johnny Marr on Top Of The Pops,Then I read that his main influence was Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols,And on his top 10 greatest bands of all time The Smiths were not even on it,Beaten by The La's and The Bee Gee's.

  • i recall a mid 90s interview with noel stating that he ran in to moz on his(noel's) birthday. he went on to say that he tried to avoid inviting him to his party cos of what his 'mates' might think. morrissey did get invited but skipped it. this was all during the moz bashing days in british 'music' press. i also recall a nme review of 'introducing morrissey' with a caption under his photo reading "morrissey- he used to be famous".
