Smiths and Salford Lads Club feature heavily in "Bike" magazine

This month's Bike magazine has a Smiths-laden article written by intrepid bike explorer Dan Walsh.

Dan is a bit of a legend in motorcycle circles - having spent most of the last few years travelling africa and then south america and writing for Bike magazine. Well, his travelling in south america kind of ground to a halt in the bars of Argentina.

He returned a year or so ago to look after his ill father and has settled in his home town of Salford.

A feature in this month's mag has photos of him outside Salford Lads Club, with the title "Strangeways Here We Come?" he even sneaks in the lines "I was delayed, I was waylaid" and "Nothing's changed, I still love you"

I was blown away with the article - Dan is a hero to all of us that forgot our bike dreams and settled for a 9-5 existence. But I'm afraid that most of the Smiths' references will be lost on the good readers of Bike - The photographer tells him "No one will know what you're on about"

Top of my birthday wish list this year is Dan's new book.

I read Bike, I'm a biker and I loved this months issue. If i'm the only one that "got it" then all the better. One of the main reasons I'm a biker and like The Smiths is it's a bit off mainstream, never follow the crowd and all that.
Dan is a legend, very funny man.
