  • In Canada we always get one CD with all the B-sides on it. It comes a little later but it always comes...

Is it like that in other places? If so, just download now and buy the proper EP-esque release soon.

Here is the Tracklist for the "You Have Killed Me" single I have...

    1. You Have Killed Me
    2. Human Being
    3. I Knew I Was Next
    4. Good Looking Man About Town

    and for "The Youngest"...

    1. The Youngest was the Most Loved
    2. If you don't like me...
    3. A song from under the floorboards
    4. Ganglord
    5. The Youngest was the Most Loved (Video)

Do you get these versions around your area eventually?

  • Oops! Forgot to line up at Virgin Megastore last night but am heading straight after work to pick it up...or at Amoeba...?

Been requesting in on Indie 103.1 in LA. Has anyone heard it yet? Hope at least a few others will help call. Gotta at least hear it once on the air. The song rocks and it's a happily ironic, self-reflective pop-song only Moz could write. Can't wait to get it in my little hands :) Thanks, Moz!

  • Are the record company insane? Sort it out guys, you're letting Moz down by not having it available in the digital formats.

You're forcing fans to seek out the vinyl bsides illegally.

  • My three formats came in the post today and again I found the vinyl versions unplayable. To get it so that it doesn't jump I need so many coins on the arm that the weight affects the speed. I had the exact problem with the last single but not with any other records.

The records look great with the heavy inner sleeve but they are so frustrating to try and play.

  • ...could be an alternative title for 'My Dearest Love', but of course, 'not just anyone'.

It's magnificent, Morrissey being his mellifluous self casting his heartfelt wish energetically and un-self-consciously into the cosmos.

  • should have this.

"My Dearest Love" is simply wonderful - the vocals are beyond spectacular. Alain and Santaolalla are a great combination.

The fact that it is a vinyl B-side only confirms what has been known for a very long time; The Man's perversity knows no bounds. ;)

If Moz did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
  • “My Dearest Love” - okay, I’ll admit I was in a bit of a melancholy mood last night and I had had a beer. But NOTHING prepared me for the sucker-punch to the stomach that this song delivered me. I was literally lying on the bed breathless while this song played out. It has been a long time since any of Moz’s music has had that affect on me – it just blasted through my ears / defences and has lodged, for good it seems in my heart.

I cannot praise this song highly enough to you all – I’m praying that someone uploads a clean USB port of it so I can copy it onto the I-pod / Computer / CD.

Alain’s music for this is so atmospheric, the piano reminding me immediately of some 70’s American thriller (one with a bad end for the protagonist) At no time did the music disappoint or bore me like some of Jesse’s compositions. If this track is a barometer of Alain’s contributions to “Years Of Refusal” then this album WILL be great.

And Moz? By far the most interesting vocal I have heard him deliver in a long time. The delivery of “…I’m Wailing”. The multi-layered delivery of the word “My”. The delivery of “grotesquely lonely” and the follow-up of “just very softly”. The repeated “Hung on”.

    I could go on forever.

Do yourself a favour. Get this song. Listen to it. Learn it. Know It. Embrace It. Accept It. Love it.

  • - "All you need is Me" is a good tune but not a big surprise as most people have it already.
    - "Children in Pieces" is a grower...but not great at the first listen.
    - "Drive in Saturday" Nice Bowie tune...I think it's Moz's favourite...maybe it has a special importance to him? I dont really get the lyrics though.
    - "My Dearest Love" is a real hidden gem! It just doesn't make sense WHY it was put on a B-side of a vinyl single....a fantastic song.

  • ....kids in bits. .....with Gustavo at the helm i was expecting some string arrangment or something epic but instead its a b side that sounds musically like a poor second rate Jam b side, obviously the lyrics are typically Mozz but again they dont seem to go with the music. That said The Jam were an amazing band so dont take the view to heart Stevo.

  • You buy more...I bought enough! Can't he just accept being internationally revered? Why the number one obsession?
Simply put, not enough people like his voice for him to go to number one. And he's a little too old by todays standards. And the songs aren't that good to a non Morrissey fan.
I don't mean to be negative...but the hyper positive, naive and clueless comments aren't founded in reality.
It used to be "forget the world, I've got the curtains drawn and a Morrissey record on..." and that was enough. Forget what the people who don't care about him think.

  • It's always been a topic of conjecture as to whether Morrissey is gay or not. There seems to have been an obvious change of direction - or possibly they've caved in to his demands - but the covers (inside and out) and are definately more gay than ever before (with the exception of suedehead - and the chocholate & apple moments in the november spawned a monster video). There was also talk of his biography being worked on - possibly when this finally is released the whole sexuality issue will be concluded - though by the looks of things - it's pretty apparent what the answer is. He's still 'the man' and always will be !

  • If you have some wierd thing about not wanting to get ripped off, or feel some absurd sense of injustice at being asked to buy the same single three times, or even if you just (strange though it must be) don't own a record player in the 21st century...

then you can hear the new songs at www.myspace.com/morrisseysavedourlives

I wonder how Morrissey would have felt (in the days when he was hopelessly poor) if Bowie had thrust such a bloodless marketing scheme on HIM.

And yeah, I still love Morrissey, but...enough is too much.

  • Why this single, Be My Dearest Love, came out in LP format. It doesn't seem good marketing strategy. It turns me off, too, that singles come scattered among a pile of frugal compilations - so I pray that they come out in MP3 format. I payed 99cents for Sweetie Pie. And now, a year later, you can download it for nothing at all. If Mozza could just assemble all those new singles into a CD and call them "an album", with a title and everything, maybe there wouldn't be so much temptation to go out to youtube or playlist to see if you can get a sniff of "the new single". It's certainly a marketing strategy, but it doesn't seem a very intelligent one... or maybe I think so because I actually never majored in Marketing...
