Both amazon.co.uk and hmv.co.uk changed the release date for All You Need Is Me to May 26th.
The Germany release date however seems to be much earlier - May 16th.

Does Decca think that anyone who would actually care about purchasing a Morrissey single wouldn't have already known about the release whether it's been promoted well or not? I think most people know that casual fans are nowhere near the majority that make up Morrissey's fanbase...98% of the people who would buy the single have already pre-ordered it or are waiting to pick it up upon release. Morrissey isn't going to get his cherished "#1 single" slot...deal with it Decca. Delaying the single is a waste of time that will not effect the sales in a positive way at all...
If anything, Decca has dropped the ball already. Sanctuary had their act together for the most part...they made sure Morrissey's singles and albums were released a day later in North America after their initial release in England, they released concert CD's and DVD's, they provided digital downloads of every album and B-side, and they made sure to keep Morrissey in the spotlight amongst his fans with numerous press releases.
Decca doesn't know how to cater to the fanbase of an artist with the stature of Morrissey.
* Decca was fool enough to release Morrissey's "Greatest Hits" in North America a month after it's European release...and they didn't even inform the fans of the proper release date until most people had already bought it as an import! A lot of people don't like having to order singles and albums from overseas...and to force them to either do so or go without is insulting.
* Decca didn't want to spend the money to license any of the other solo Morrissey or Smiths songs he played during the Hollywood Bowl concert that was included as a bonus disc of the "Greatest Hits"...I don't know how many people REALLY wanted to own live versions of "I Will See You In Far Off Places" and "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy" (and the over-released live versions of "Irish Blood, English Heart" and "First Of The Gang To Die") but I believe I can safely say the numbers were few.
* Decca is too cheap to even release the Hollywood Bowl concert on DVD...it can no longer be assumed that anyone OTHER than Morrissey owns the rights to the footage of the concert...the credits on the "Greatest Hits" CD proves that much. Not to mention, the entire video for "That's How People Grow Up" was footage from the Hollywood Bowl concert. It is like they are "testing the waters" to see how well Morrissey sells and if he sells well then they'll release everything they can...which is absurd...because he's Morrissey. You don't "test the waters" with Morrissey. Anything he puts out will sell and you'll make a profit from it. Period.
* Decca can't even keep Morrissey's "official" website or his "official" Myspace account up to date. How many concerts and festivals have been announced that Morrissey will be performing at? About six or seven so far...how many does his website list? One. It is almost like once they created the shell for his website, they left it unfinished and didn't even bother to go back and add anything to it! There is supposedly a Morrissey "blog" on there that has said "coming soon" since the site was launched. There are no updated pictures on the site. Why aren't the single sleeves under the pictures section? And the Morrissey "timeline" on the site will probably never see the light of day!
* How many months has this "Special Morrissey Release" been advertised online? Too many! Decca should not make the fans wait like this...if you weren't going to release it or release it soon, then you shouldn't have bothered advertising it and getting people's hopes up for nothing.
* Decca has not leaked any information or written any press release about the new album at all. When "Quarry" and "Ringleader" were this close to release we already knew PLENTY about them. Hell, we don't even have a name for the album yet!
In summation, Decca sucks and

I pretty much agree with the things written about Decca. I'd like to add that everything Decca has done so far was to raise prices for the albums (The Greatest Hits bla cost 19 Euros (about 14 pounds and 29 Dollars) in Germany - and that's not even the Special Edition (which cost 22 Euros)) and moreover to ask Morrissey-devotees to spend more money on the singles in order to win some hideous chart-war (cf. the new "homepage" with its ridiculous url "www.itsmorrisseysworld.com"). Alright, now Mozzer grows old and perhaps more quiet after all. Perhaps he even does not care that much about the rules of the industry. But I think that's a reason to get angry. After all, didn't he write songs called "Paint A Vulgar Picture" or "Get Off The Stage". Right now they seem to resemble self fulfilling prophecies.
