Our tribute to The Smiths and Morrissey, Girlfriend In A Coma, filled in for Moz at The Rams Head in Baltimore when he was unable to post due to illness on July 3rd. While the evening was a great success for our band, it was a night of mixed emotions for us as we, like you, were expecting to see the man himself.

Based on the success of our fill-in for Morrissey, we were asked back for a date earlier this month which, sadly, we were unable to accept. We were hoping to fill an opening in The Rams Head's schedule for early November when we got word a couple of days ago... Morrissey has confirmed a re-schedule there for October the 31st.

Again, disappointed but, for opposite reasons, we are now hoping to score tickets again - we were all sure he would not reschedule for such a relatively small venue.

Hope this gives some hope to Baltimore fans and all those other folks up north who were so let down a couple of months ago.

Peace & Love,

Quinn (Moz faker) Girlfriend In A Coma

  • It was a great gig and much needed given the disappointment of all those who traveled from afar to the canceled Baltimore show. Sadly, we can't travel again all the way from Ireland.

  • When you listen to Elvis songs they are all about unrequited love, although he was loved by millions of people. I don't think that phenomena like Elvis could EVER happen again because of too much choice & modern technology: internet, etc. When Elvis was alive there were only hand-written letters delivered by postmen. Now we have too much of everything and everything is at our finger-tips.

I really do think that Morrissey is a "Modern day Elvis". He tours and does LIVE gigs - and not just the biggest venues in each country. He is adored by so many people who want to hug/kiss/touch him. He is generous to his fans and interacts with his fans at concerts; he speaks to them and gives them handshakes.

There are 2 Heroes in my life: Elvis & Morrissey.

  • has always been my high holy day - the only time the world made any sense. I was so disappointed when this show was cancelled - to have it rescheduled for Oct. 31st is just beyond fantastic.

I'm going to wait until it's on TTY, and then I'm gonna burst into tears.

    Morrissey f*****g kills me.

If Moz did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
  • They would not confirm the date, but they said they will make an announcement soon. They will be honoring all tickets for the original show. I'm so glad I held on to those.

  • I spoke to Rams Head several times and each time they said they were still trying. I called them a couple of days ago and they were sure it was going to happen.

  • After thumbing through my teenage years nI must say

    The song remains the same

    The Stranglers "Walk On Bye"

Anyone who makes an over six minute classic out of 3 minute schmaltz is clasic by me

Seriously the stranglers highered the esteem in my eyes

Can anyone better that with a cover version?

    I doubt it
