  • It'll be interesting to see how they plan to outdo the Annual Smiths/Morrissey Convention held in Hollywood. Many fans travel from across the country to be there. We had a nice little treat of having Alain Whyte there.

  • The mighty Swallowneck is seriously considering making an appearance at this one as he has some nifty new moves for Striptease With A Difference that he is dying to showcase to other "Moz Nuts"...

    Please buy him a ticket and provide lodgings for the night... he's a habitual sleepwalker, so you might get a big surprise!!!!

  • will there be a convention this year? last year it was held @ the end of june, and the year before was in july. this year we got the depeche mode convention during the summer and no word on the smiths one.

  • The link is wrong and it doesn't look like the tickets are actually on sale yet. The site says they go on sale Friday the 8th. Well, the 8th is Sunday. Wrong again. If you care. :/

  • For eons now, if a Smiths/Morrissey fan wanted to meet with others of his/her ilk they had to schlep across the country/world to LA for a convention/celebration of the Smiths/Morrissey's art.
    This is the first time a real venue of any substance in the middle Atlantic region has tried to pull one off - what say let's support it?! eh?!!!
    I'll be there, BTW, Girlfriend In A Coma are BY FAR the best Smiths tribute I've ever seen(i've seen the Hooligans, the Handsome Devils and the Sons and Heirs) This f****r "Quinn" absolutely CHANNELS Moz!!!

  • Hey, i was at the last show these guys did at the Ottobar in January. These guys are freakin' great! The boys in the band don't look like the Smiths, or anyone Moz ever played with for that matter,kinda sucks, but they nail the songs!
    But the cat that plays Morrissey - HOLY SHIT, i swear there are moments you feel like you're watching the genuine article. And the atmosphere there was off the hook. That place had to be sold out - EVERYONE was dancing and singing along and there had to be 30 or more stage invasions. I never got to see the Smiths but I bet it was like this - i wouldn't miss this party and i've got 5 buddies comming with me.
    For out of towners - i live in a sleepy little town called Westminster,MD but Baltimore is a freakin' GREAT town and the people that are regulars at the Ottobar are the coolest you're ever likely to meet.
