Morrissey came up as a topic in an online interview with stars of the upcoming film, Reno 911! Lt. Dangle shares his enthusiasm for Moz.

AVC: Lieutenant Dangle, in the film, you wear a pretty well-worn Morrissey shirt as part of your civvies. How long have you been a Morrissey fan?

JD: I've been a lifelong Morrissey enthusiast. I've written a lot of cards and letters to him. I haven't gotten any response back, and he's my number two of my top eight friends on MySpace. On the other side, I've looked at his MySpace, and I somehow have not made his top eight. So I don't know if this is kind of a one-way street we've got going here, but Mr. Morrissey, Steven—if I may call you that—if you are reading this interview, you could do me the solid of putting me in your top eight.

  • Lt. Dangle (in character) was a guest on Joe Escalante's (sp?) show this morning. As guest DJ, he played all Moz songs.

  • That was a cool little interview, Lieutenant Dangle was very funny! Side note, "Your're the one for me fatty" was from the "Beethoven was deaf" album, not "Live from Earls Court". Just thought I'd let you know.

If you are a fan of the show, Reno:911, then you may like the movie.

The cast perform in the film with that same kind of improv-style from the TV series that is so unpredictable and fun to watch. With a big movie budget at their disposal, and an R-rating to boot, be prepared to see alot more explosions, car crashes, shootouts, T and A (with great emphasis on A) and more tacky tourist outfits that any human can possibly stand. Dangle, of course, looked quite stylish in his civillian gear, which includes a black Morrissey shirt (with the Goth lettering), black motorcycle jacket (in Miami?) high-cut Daisy Dukes and pink bandana. The humor is at times is raunchy, outrageous and politically incorrect. In other words, its like enjoying a night of Chaucer.

Danny DeVito has a cameo in the film, as well as Paul Reubens, formerly Pee Wee Herman, and the former WWE champion known as the Rock. Of course, no Reno:911 ensemble is complete without the appearance of Terry, the ditzy male prostitute from the TV series creating his usual mischief.
