Recently, several UK Radio DJs carried out an experiment to establish whether they could get their all-time favourite pop tunes back into the charts by persauding listeners to download them. The DJs eclectic nominations ranged from Kenny Loggins to Chas `n` Dave. Surprisingly, today, DJ Chris Moyle`s pick, Honey To The Bee, by Billie Piper entered the UK charts at No17- 8 years after it was first released. Does this bode well for the proposed campaign for us all to make an orchestrated effort to get our favourite Morrissey/Smiths single returned to the charts?

  • He liked Billie Piper in Dr Who, but all this talk of downloads is not sitting comfortably with Swallowneck. For God's sake he's asking me if taping a track off the radio counts as a download!!!

If you don't like me, don't look at me...
  • Is there something inherently wrong with a Billie Piper song re-entering the charts?

You may not like her, or the fat tube Moyles, but it's just a Pop record, and it'll go away again in a few weeks.

The top 40, since its inception, has always been more or less full of rot, even in its heyday (whenever that may have been). Why do some people still get so worked up about it?

  • I think it's a great idea. It'd be very cool to have Moz at No.1 at last!

"my only mistake is I'm hoping"
  • We hold a poll to select a Morrissey song for mass downloading.

Downloading begins on first day of the new week after poll results.

  • You make it clear to people what they have to do.
I've heard it was pigsty or was it meat is murder or was it this week we were supposed to download and what song was it anyway and oh shit i just wasted 79p on pigsty and they havent started yet and im not wasting anymore money....................

FOR CHRISTS SAKE DO THIS PROPERLY ITS A GOOD IDEA
let people know exactly what song
Exactly when....must be from a monday
And do it on the main news page
Most people who look at this site never ever read the forums and those that had a look because of the original post on this will be none the wiser and probably dont want to ever again trawl through the abuse and confusion.

    What song is it?
    When do we download?
Get it on the main page with a very clear title.
    Job done.
It'll eother work or it wont but give it a chance too please....it's a great idea.

  • ...but going by the paltry number of replies to this thread, I'd say I'm not alone in thinking this is a pretty pointless idea.

It's not enough just to enjoy his music? We should also be prepared to re-buy stuff so he can appear in the charts occassionally?

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and presume that it doesn't bother him enough to make this worth our while. I should bloody well hope not, anyway.
