The Guardian Unlimited features the following article by an intrigued Mark Simpson on the latest rumours of Morrissey's interest in participating in the Eurovision Song Contest:

A man of great Euro-vision
The BBC has been in talks with Morrissey about writing this year's 'song for Europe' - but why is he in such demand these days?

  • Has no one yet noticed something a bit odd? Moz writes lyrics. He can't write music. Therefore... he'd have to have a musician to work with. A small niggle, but still... it's been getting on my nerves, all this "Moz to write a song" business. Don't these people know anything?!

  • This one is a musical skit on the song Morrissey might come up with for the contest (remove any rogue spaces from URL first):

Then, this lively ‘Irish Times’ article wonders why Ireland didn’t have the brainwave to claim Morrissey first to represent the Irish! -

I spotted both of these items on the Forums pages. While users there seem to be very assiduous and harmonious, for many others who only have time to skim-read the main page for Morrissey news highlights, please don’t forget to submit your entertaining and/or relevant findings as stories for the benefit of all.

  • This is a well written piece. It contains no new information for the Morrissey fan, but he does have more detail and feel for the subject than most other journo's writing about Moz.

I therefore suspect that Mark Simpson is a fan.....

Do my eyes deceive me, or is Senna's Lotus sounding rough?
  • He likes his suitors to be clean, discreet and of a certain age - so Simpson is probably right up his street!
