Working in the music industry I have access to the midweek charts and can confirm Morrissey held the number 7 position after Mondays sales but has now slipped to number 9. He is 50 copies ahead of Tony Christie so is likely to slip just outside the top 10 by Sunday.

The music press might make a big deal out of this missing the Top 10 with alot of "he's lost his momentum" talk and blah, blah, but the hell with them.
It doesn't change the fact that it's a great song off a great album.

UK Radio no hope - apart from Radio 2 (Score:0)
Overall, UK radio (especially Radio 1) is very very mainstream. And Very Boring.

Even the B-sides are much stronger than the "You Have Killed Me" B-sides.
I hope that Morrissey doesn't get too frustrated when future singles from this album ("In The Future When All's Well" and "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy") fall lower in the charts than this one.

Ok, so the charts don't mean that much, but doesn't it worry you that they suggest what people like? And yes, it's all very well for some people to say 'it's a matter of taste', but I believe that there is such a thing as BAD taste, and the single-buying public seem to have it.
