Come one, come all - well, as long as you're not going to the gig at the Palladium - to sunny Birmingham for "Unhappy Birhday" on Sunday 21st May, 8pm til late (late being possibly 1am) at the room downstairs at the Sunflower Lounge (76 Smallbrook Queensway, just 2 minutes from New Street Station. 24/7 parking available in the multistorey above the station).

Yes, we know it's the day before Big M's birthday, however, come along and for a mere £1, dance in a crazy fashion to music by The Smiths, Morrissey, and related artists (The Polecats, Primitives, Sandie Shaw, The Cookies, The Crystals, The Cramps, Slaughter & The Dogs, Nico & The Invisible Girls, Patti Smith, New York Dolls, Electronic, Red Lightning, Elva Snow, Magazine etc etc etc.)

There will also be competitions: Best Quiff, Best Dancer, Girl Most Resembling An Actress From a Kitchen Sink Film, Knobbly Knees and Glamorous Grannies - you might win a signed copy of the new edition of Mark Simpson's "Saint Morrissey", a signed copy of Phill Gatenby's "Morrissey's Manchester" or, by 'eck, a T-SHIRT!

We have no special guests, unfortunately, as Mark Simpson tells me that owing to local bylaws he's not allowed in Birmingham after dark.

So yes, please do come along. There will be free birthday cake as well.
