From today's Holy Moly mailout:

You Have Billed Me

On tour, Morrissey has three 'tiers' for hotels and accommodation: A = him, his manager and tour manager; B = lighting and sound crew; C = his band.

After his Alexandra Palace show last week, A and B stayed and partied at The Grosvenor. C had to stay at The Columbia and were not allowed to go to The Grosvenor party.

  • I don't believe this news story! I don't think Moz would put his band below the light and sound crew and he would never leave them out of a party. Anyone who believes this story has their head up their ass.

  • Bring on the lawyers...and rightly so.

I don't believe a band would put up with that kind of crap and this rumour probably originated from a Joyce sympathizer.

It’s intent is obvious… “Morrissey is so horrible to his band members that even the crew gets better treatment.” It’s rather transparent….

Morrissey, by all means contact your lawyers…

  • Really I can't believe this. I think it's far more likely he would avoid the party himself than go and leave the band out. It's another tabloid nonsense story. He always refers to 'Our' new single etc so it's hard to believe he doesn't consider the band and himself as a single unit. I think it's the tightest line up in many years and I hope they remain together for many more. G

Moz is partying down with gaffers and soundboard techs, but not Boz & Co.?

    Cannae be.

B is the band and their guests, C is the soundcrew and other tour staff. But everyone is treated well, and the classifications aren't like some rigid royal invitations. I'm sure if someone from the C group really, really wanted to be in the A and B party and asked the one of the band, they'd invite them as a guest.
They do all have separate hotels, but this is more likely to throw mad fans off the trail; so Mozzer doesn't come down to breakfast to find a crowd in the lobby. The crew probably get chased instead. Mozzer loves his band, they love him. Nuf said.

  • This is absolute rubbish. I know for a fact that Moz and the band stay in the same hotel. If they weren't staying at the grovesner with him, then it would have been a logistical problem - e.g. not enough rooms. Anyway wouldn't the London based band members stay at home after this show?

Still, it's all bullshit and I don't know how David Tseng can print something such as this as a valid news item. With actions such as this it is no surprise that Morrissey hates this site and refers to it as so-low.

  • What if the sound and light geeks were having a sound and light crew party and they asked Moz to stop by?

What if Moz threw a party for the sound and light geeks to show that even though they are not in the limelight they are dearly appreciated and respected by him for the role they play?

What if the band and the sound and light geeks just don't get along and have to have separate parties?

What if it was for vegetarians only and the sound and light geeks are all vegetarians and the band are meat eaters?

What if the the sound and light geeks are all Moz's third cousins and it was a family reunion for family only?

What if I had something better to do?

  • Some people seem to know for a FACT that Moz and the band stay in the same hotel. I am not saying that they don't, but at least at SOME occasions they really don't. I spoke to Boz after the Amsterdam gig and he told me that Moz was staying at an expensive hotel in Paris, where they were playing the day after, and that the band would follow him by bus. To save expenses. Why would he lie?
Don't get me wrong, I don't believe this story, about the partying and stuff, but we just don't know exactly what arrangements Moz prefers.
