Mario I. Oña sends photos from the SXSW interview w/David Fricke (8 total, click thumbnails to enlarge). He has also written about the experience on his myspace page and sent in an audio recording of the interview (14.8 MB, 1:03 wma format).

  • He's very impressive, a contender for anyone, during that interview. Even if the Inrock video was slightly stilted - I think Morrissey loves the crowd reaction, he makes friends there immediately - the Channel 4 spot tomorrow is a must-see after that.

  • Everyone wanted this SXSW interview to be broadcast, but it didn't happen that way. I'm glad someone had a tape recorder running.

    It was a little hard to hear but wow, did he and Frick cover alot of ground. The audible gasp from everyone about the Coachella offer was fun to hear. The audience seems to get a big kick out of Morrissey's frankness.

    The Arctic Monkeys remark came way at the end. If they would have pushed harder to end it, that remark may have never been made. It's a shame everyone focused on that one remark in an otherwise great interview.
