Taxus Bacatta has written to say that the spoof Morrissey site True-to-You.net is now live as of January 3. Congratulations to Taxus and Jürgen, I know it will be a big success.

  • "Miss Sycophant has news about the latest Morrissey release. Lucky bitch."

This site is going to be... interesting. I don't know whether to laugh or cry really. Though at the moment, it's the former.

  • It's about time people stopped taking themselves so seriously, i love it, especially the digs at the users on here, i doubt everyone's going to see the funny side, but i do.

  • nice blog, errr website. i'm all for freedom of speech and tend to support people in any creative endeavor they partake in, but.... you are begging to be sued. unless of course morrissey gave you permission for the calander, but i'm guessing not! still at a loss to understand the hatred for julia but that's just me

    blame me! i didn't vote!
  • you have a fun idea but you really should work on it. simply put, the articles are not very funny and they run on and on(into boredom territory). keep at it and try simplifying. you do not need 6 paragraph articles about julia or boz to make your point. maybe i should've said, we don't need a 6 paragraph unfunny article to read. i want to like your site but give us some effort and a reason to check back.
also, poking fun at boz, alain & julia says more about the writer's shortcomings than relating a humourous story about the moz burning through 14 hotel blowdryers since his stay in Roma begun, angering hotel management, etc.
focus and try to keep your stories better than only slightly interesting.

  • Some clever writing and creative energy went into that; let's hope it's kept clean, playful and non-malicious.

  • They are very good.
The general tone is quite good. Not relying on the normal cliches about Morrissey. Obviously coming from a position of knowledge.
However, other than the images, it's not actually very funny. Needs more jokes. Maybe making the articles shorter would work.

  • very funny, at least to those few of us in the world's population who guffaw at detailed morrissey posts rferecining julia riley, david tseng, and the quirky nature of MorrisseySoLow commenters.

  • this Anonymous comment sectioned under "The Great Julia Riley Debate" by Wish S. Toremainanonymous..."I am dumber for having read this article. This website sucks. You suck. You should stop. You’re embarassing yourself, your fellow man, but mostly yourself. You’re not fooling anyone. We all know that you masturbate in your own feces, there’s no need to bring that type of psychotic behavior to this webpage or any other. You need to be committed to a mental institution. I’m making a prediction: You Will Be Finished By The End of The Year. Please die. Retire. Something! I am distressed, only for the stupidity that you’re capable of. You’re dragging me down. There should’ve been a warning label for this garbage I actually read. I want the last 5-10 minutes of my life back. You owe it to me. I will avenge the time lost! My brain is melting, I’m in agony. You are so stupid. The only chance at redemption that you have, is to cancel everything, close down this website, and hope that it is soon forgotten. Otherwise, the millions of brains that you’ll ruin are in jeopardy. Please, do us a favor, well, you know…"

    Hilarious.
I share the same sentiments, generally.

  • Dear Fans and Friends,

I am all for free speech, but the spoof site is simply juvenile and dumb- also offensive.

I also enjoy humour- but there is no humour on this spoof site. Only hateful, perverted, and infantile remarks. I won't be visiting it again, but I am shocked that such a site would be promoted as 'news' on this fan site.

I'd really rather read the supermarket tabloids- because they are far better. The webmasters or whoever maintain that site should be ashamed. There is no intellect or charm in that site at all-
    no parody
    no irony
    nothing clever
    nothing witty
    nothing funny-

    just dumb b.s.

David T.- you are really disappointing me.

  • Congratulations to the editor and writers/contributors to True-to-Yew website. It amusing and well-written, and though irreverent doesn't overstep the mark. It is well conceived - there is definitely the need for a site like this and I for one will be a regular visitor.

Nobody likes the sort of arse-licking tone of True-to-you.net and it is good that is being sent up. Indeed I can't imagine any real fan except for the most straight-laced dullard getting anything out of the true-to-you site (except of course for the Moz interviews which is like putting a succulent cherry on top of a steaming great turd)! It is so trite and any reasonably intelligent fan is going to want to find out more than the trite info posted. What is the point in posting discographys and tracklistings? Everyone knows them anyway and there are some much, much better, less heralded sites that have doen this for years!

  • Insinuating that Morrissey is a child molester is not humour, nor witty.
    Please close that site down.
