  • Let me be the first to rubbish these claims then. Bollocks.

  • Not sure that a reunion won't happen in this fashion-- a one-off gig in Manchester-- but I'd guess that the show for which they'd get back together would be for animal rights. I'd be shocked if someone at PETA hadn't suggested to Morrissey that he and Marr play a one-off charity gig in Manchester (or London or New York). They'd make a killing-- so to speak.

  • I can't see this myself- the concert was an idea of andy rourkes'. I can't see Andy unstaging his own moment of recognition/ achievement by reuniting Morrissey & Marr. Not that i think he's malicious or holds a grudge- but he'd have to swallow a lot of pride.
But it is for charity, so.....

  • even putting aside all the recent hoaxes, the choice of language isn't too convincing ... "my money is on 'something' happening for Manchester vs Cancer, a charity concert at the MEN arena in Jan 2006. Maybe."

    Viva hate.

It's more enduring and long lasting than any passing affections.

    What i say, is true.

  • The only way it will happen is if 'the Healers' are playing - or whatever they are called now - and Morrissey is playing. But totally separate bands with new order and a whole host of artists playing inbetween.

  • everytime the subject is raised it's so the sky is falling everywhere. it really would be just the greatest thing ever, if for no other reason than to imagine all the jaws lining the asphalt and utterly speechless for the first time evers.

  • I don't get all the excitement. They would sound absolutley exactly like Morrissey's last tour. Some songs identical to the albums and others performed more slowly by old bored performers. I'd love if they did a new album privately, and didn't talk about it to anyone. Just released it. That'd be more personal. But if a live reunion would just be the same old songs live, well, I'd much rather see them play in their seperate bands. With their new songs. I prefer the present to a reunion, especially without Rourke and Joyce. It would just mean much higher ticket prices and more "fans" blocking the view and taking up space. Can't wait for the Ringleaders onslaught.
