This column is downright Pixieish - The Minnesota Daily

Excerpt:

And “rock star” is not the only new slang replacing common expressions. When even Hilary Duff is name-dropping the Smiths, rock ’n’ roll slang is increasingly taking over...

Morrissey
DEFINITION: To feel neutral or apathy, to not care either way.

EXAMPLE: “The movie choices you gave me leave me in a Morrissey conundrum.”

  • In my book, Morrissey would be slang for feeling far too much.

If Moz did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
  • no one would ever say that, this is just another blue peter scenario

    "hey kids that's 'wicked'"
    "oh no that's pants"
    "groovy" etc etc

Morrissey doesn't even sound right when said in that way, what parallel universe is this writer living in?

It is a very mixed blessing to be brought back from the dead.
  • No, no, no. People need to listen to the lyrics before they decide to formulate half-baked "definitions".

    1. Morrissey has always been opinionated - never, ever, neutral.

    and...

    2. Morrissey has had reason to feel a lot of apathy in the past, it's true. But he is generally an empathetic person on most levels.

I agree with the person who said: 'Morrissey' would be slang for feeling far too much.

  • I often say "I'm feeling a lot of Morrissey today".
And then i wake up & realise i've been groping my curtains.

Yeah, it was a crap joke, but then the artcile was silly to begin with.
Almost as bad as Cockney Rhyming Slang i think.

  • Apathy and neutrality is hardly the same thing as radical celibacy or sexuality is it?

Who on earth thought this crap up?

If Morrissey is anything, he's the antithesis to neutrality.

    Banal fucks.
