  • John Peel was a great person, and will always be missed.

What did you think of the Smiths' Peel sessions, by the way?

  • Looks to be a good album for great man. Wasn't 'Reel around the fountain' Peel's fave Smiths track though? I suppose that would be far less commercial.

  • looking at the tracklisting, to me, this cd doesn't seem to reflect john peel at all. yes he liked all of the bands included but it just doesn't read like a john peel playlist. i'd also think it might perhaps be more appropriate for session songs to be released instead of what seems at a glance each bands most famous work.

i do really miss him, his show but i just can't buy into all of these things. would he have wanted this? i don't know

  • You can do better than that.

  • on someone else's death.
Did Peel have a family which may get the royalties, etc., instead of just the corporate man cashing in?

........a life affirming voice set to a heavenly guitar melody, a killer bass line and a impassioned drum beat.
