Just looking at www.play.com for the new live DVD when I noticed that My Life with Morrissey was to be released (I had to import my copy). I found the film reasonably amusing, particularly the Moz fans documentary as a special feature, but it may not be everybodys cup of tea.

  • Trust me. I tried to like it. I really, really did. I'm not just being another nay-sayer, either. Those are quite common on this site.

  • This would have to be one of the worst movies that I have had the displeasure of viewing. Awful. Crap script, bad acting, terrible sound and lighting and much more!

The doco on the fans is rather enjoyable, though. I don't usually care what people do with their own money, but please don't buy this rubbish DVD.

  • Although I was really looking forward watching the flick, it was a huge disappointment. Crap filming, mediocre script and hilarious (over)acting. This movie would be probably outdone by any school theatre group. Despite the fact, that I'm not too fond of moaning about anything, I'd suggest anyone not to buy it.

  • I've noticed that everyone on this site who has seen the film has nothing but negative comments about it and I have personally taken these on board and will probably never watch it (it's weird- so many things on this site divide opinion, like videos, singles, TV appearances etc, but no-one at all seems to like this, so it must be exceptionally bad!)

But still, I'm quite curious as to what this film is actually about- is it a documantary or an original screenplay? And what makes it so unanimously crap?

      • I was able to rent it at a local "hip" video rental place for $2. For $2, it was worth seeing simply to say that I'd seen it. For any more than $2, you'll want your money and time back. The hilarity of the movie wears thin about 10 minutes in and simply gets uncomfortable and redundant. I believe the $0 budget and no real actors, and even taking that into consideration it is still exceptionally bad and embarassing for any Morrissey fan. Its about a very obsessed and ridiculous Moz fan who is delusional and stupid. I'd like to think Moz fans are neither.

  • This film is a heaping fistfull of crap. Anyway here's the plot: ths story is about a woman who's really addicted to moz, she speaks and have sex with moz' posters and imagines that she lives with morrissey. This crazyness looks interesting but believe me the actors, dialogs, music, shot are awfull. The only slight interest of this film could be the bonus which is a report about moz' fan and the crap mood on morrissey's convention. But if you are masochistic - and I think you are otherwise you wouldn't like morrissey - have a great time.

  • It does not even make any sense at all that main character should be obsessed with Morrissey. Her obbsession is a purely sexual one. She doeswn't even listen to the music.
All in all it's just horribly cheap and sexist!!!!!!!!!
Had to stop watching halfway through!

  • I got a region one copy on ebay a few months back. Well.. it is so bad that the mere act of releasing it over here seems like a cynical bandwagon-jumping exercise. The poor woman who plays the lead role should be allowed to be forgotten in peace - she'll never act again after this, of course, but maybe she'll be able to do something with her life.

Well, at least it makes the reissue of Hulmerist and The Malady Lingers On seem less pointless.
